" Does it now ? Last time I checked, my paperwork was done and on Jean's desk by seven o'clock. Can you say the same about yours ? "

" Hey ! We're not talking about me right now. " Busted.

Kaeya crossed his arms, staring at Lohen with a deadpan expression. " No, we shouldn't. If you want to slice Hilichurls, you can raid their camps. Wait, no. Finish your paperwork first. "

As if Kaeya ever did his own paperwork on time ... " It's still Friday night. Shouldn't you turn your paperwork in before tomorrow ? "

" Don't you have paperwork to finish ? "

" For what ? " Kaeya was confused now. There was nothing to be sorry about. But he'd have to report to Grandmaster Varka about this later. Just to let him know privately, that another Descender had reached Teyvat.

His brow rose. " You're ... from beyond the stars ? " he asked, even though the answer was evident. Was this woman another Descender, like the Traveller ? She looked like an ordinary civilian, no weapons in sight.

His head tilted to the side, a single blue eye looking her from head to toe. Based on her getup, he'd assumed that she was from Natlan. " From Mondstadt, definitely not. But I assumed you were Natlanese, no ? "

He waved his hand. " No need for such formalities, Miss Kham. Just Kaeya is fine. " he grinned again. " For starters, this is Mondstadt, the city of freedom. Whereabouts in Teyvat do you hail from ? "

And he was the first to approach this unknown creature. " Well, aren't you a sight for sore eyes ? You lost, stranger ? " he offered his most charming smile as he said all that. Smooth as ever.

He heard people around him whispering, head turning to check out what was so unusual, in order to cause murmurs at the center of the square. Kaeya first noticed @spicyfoxian.bsky.social's ears and then, a fluffy tail swaying behind him. His interest was immediately piqued. +

" There's no need to thank me, I'm just being honest as a good Knight should be. " He would've winked, but well. Kind of hard when one eye was already covered. Oh, well. " I'll show you around. Name's Kaeya, by the way. Cavalry Captain of Ordo Favonius. And you, lovely lady ? "

𝓪𝑙͟𝑏͟𝑒͟𝑟𝑖𝑐𝘩. @frostwltz.bsky.social · 06/10/2026

" Archons, that's blasphemy. You're quite the beauty, Miss. " A passerby looked at Kaeya and rolled his eyes. The Cavalry Captain was at it again. " Oh ? Do you know where you are, or do you need a tour guide ? I'm off duty today, heh. "

𝓪𝑙͟𝑏͟𝑒͟𝑟𝑖𝑐𝘩. @frostwltz.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

" Do you see any other pretty faces around here ? " Kaeya was endlessly amused. This young woman was obviously not a local. And playing tour guide for pretty girls was his specialty. " You lost, doll ? "

He's leaning nonchalantly against a wall, watching @gambleranchor.bsky.social who is walking by. " New face in town ? A pretty one too. Are you lost, doll ? "

Kaeya grinned, a hand reaching for Anaxa's waist. " My pleasure. You can stay for as long as you want. There's space for two in here. "

" I caught a pretty cherry. " he chuckled in amusement.

His gaze shifted to the blonde man, whom Kaeya had already noticed earlier. He remembered this man ; Dainsleif. A friend of the traveller's. And a Khaenri'ahn. " Are your going to say hello, or are you going to keep staring ? "

He turned to look at Anaxa while plating their dinner. A soft chuckle left him upon seeing the smaller man in Kaeya's own pyjamas. " Right on time for dinner. " he announced, setting the last plate down. " Are the pyjamas alright ? They're probably a little big but I don't have a smaller +

himself and his guest. He settled on Pasta Bolognese. Easy to make and timeless. He hummed a tune while cooking.

Kaeya chuckled and went to the bedroom. He pulled a spare pyjama set from the closet and hung both the top and bottom on the bathroom's door handle. " Pyjamas are on the handle ! " he called over the sound of running water. Then he went to the kitchen, trying to decide on what to cook for +

He really wasn't planning on peeking. It was more surprising that Anaxa assumed he would do such a thing. " I'll get you some clean pyjamas and prepare dinner. Any requests ? "

" You still look human. " Kaeya shrugged, shutting the door behind him. He raised his hands in surrender. " I wouldn't mind sharing a bed, but I'm a gentleman above all else. I wouldn't force you into it. And I wasn't planning on picking. That's crude behaviour. " +

small, but cosy. " Bathroom's that way. There's warm water. And you can have the bedroom as well. I'll sleep on the sofa, unless you want company. " he half teased. He wouldn't mind sharing a bed with Anaxa.

" Well, you ARE human. I would assume your core is very similar to mine, if not the same. " Kaeya commented, leading the way to his modest house. He unlocked the front door and stood aside to let Anaxa in first. " It's not much, but it's home. " he shrugged. The living room was +

A kiss pressed to Kaoru's forehead. " Alright. See you in an hour then ? "

" I wasn't following you. " Kaeya huffed. " I haven't seen you in days. " he crossed his arms and puffed his chest out, before deflating again. " Yeah. You can shower at my place. I'll make dinner because your stomach made it clear that it needs some food. "

000 0

" I know. But there's really no point in worrying. I'm a great swordsman, heh. Shall I pick you up in about an hour ? That's when my shift ends. "

Kaeya's nonchalant expression was replaced by seriousness. " What the hell did you do ? " he demanded, leaning back a little while staring at Anaxa's fingers. " You need to see a doctor. "

000 0

" You don't need to worry so much. I'm used to this. I've been a Knight for a while now. " He turned, kissing Kaoru's palm. " But if it makes you feel better, I'll meet you up after I'm done with my duty. Maybe we can grab dinner. "

He grinned playfully. " Hello to you too. " Kaeya chuckled in amusement. " Are you moody again ? "

" I'm a knight. I have to overdo it sometimes. " he chuckled lightly. " Don't worry though, I'm used to it. "
