Our owner spotted this post and wanted to tell you to enjoy a "Primanti's" and "I-urn city" for him since he moved away. We have no idea what he's talking about, but he said a fellow "yinzer" would understand ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ We think he's finally snapped.

We use different languages everyday depending on whose project we're working on. It's only a problem when you haven't mastered a tech before learning a new one.

We prefer to think of him like that whacky dude in the old power companies: Knowledgeable enough to be dangerous. He can write code and make tools, but he has no clue what he's doing or how to do it correctly. We're often called to fix / rewrite these tools when the performance cracks at scale.

We enjoy tailwind but have found that sometimes having some reusable high level classes are helpful. Adding SASS to help readability and using the @apply directive are great for skinning your forms and other reusable elements. Check it out: tailwindcss.com/docs/functio...

Yes. See our recent comment about a decade's worth of JavaScript code that we had worked on for CNN.

The most unhinged thing we've seen this morning: Them: I need animation on my website Us: we can help Them: great we have a physics animation. You need to understand physics and gravity for it Us: we write code. If we were smart enough to be physicists, do you think this would be our profession?

It took us about a week to start contributing. The toughest part was deeper into their system migration when we'd stumble on bugs that would send us on a fox hunt. Extra attributes would get added to objects as they got passed around making it maddening to find the source of the mutations.

We have seen the horrors of raw JS. What you're suggesting is fine for a small project or team. It falls apart when you scale. Our work for CNN was on a decade's worth of JS written by a lot of people / teams. With morphing data types, it sometimes took days to understand what was happening.

The If() operator already exists in SASS. Our team has been using this feature since 2017. Why wait for CSS when you can do it in SASS today?! ;)

We've made this mistake enough times that we immediately spotted it. Pain is learning.

There's a reason why many of us drink beer rather frequently and often have a loose grasp on morality. When a number can transmute into an object, you're practically bankrupt of all sense of right and wrong anyways.

Agreed. Our team leader added: "fear of being smashed in the mouth for being an asshole by the guy who pours concrete for a living is more likely to make you self-censor". ... he was a blue collared union dock worker before he went to college and became a dev. He's our special boy 😂.

As old timers of the interwebz, we have seen how inflammatory complete anonymity can become - anyone recall AOL. We have more of a digital footprint today, but these persistent behaviors lead us to believe there's a myriad of undiagnosed psychiatric disorders online - particularly on social media.

We asked our team leader and he said "they can choose from COBOL, APL, BASIC, or SIMULA 67. We expect excellence around these parts".

Yes, but how are your leetcode skills? (We're sarcastically joking at this obnoxious industry trend. We swear we're cute, don't hurt us)

We recreated a documentation system similar to Docus for a GCP project. Now we have pretty docs that live alongside the code in tidy markdown files. Ask us how to set up a similar system for your project! #documentation #software #web #development

We felt the same way. Then came the day we had to center a div. Then came idiosyncratic JavaScript our colleague wrote: it made us question the meaning of life. We thought of the Futurama scene where Bender met God... In our journeys, we learned that code will always humble the hell out of you.

Being cool is only important when you're young Coolness is the currency of young social status. When you're young & broke, coolness is the best thing we got for it. When we have adult $$, we can buy neat toys. Who needs cool points when you can have a flamethrower for hornet's nests?

We conferred the office and we agreed. Free kisses and hugs from you are the best. But if you insist on paying, kisses and hugs from a hooker will do. Happy holidays from our very twisted staff<3

We've been spending hours playing with the O1 model, and it's outputs are impressive. It's thorough in its responses and offers viable strategies with complex solutions to proposed problems. We'll be putting its code generation to the test this weekend to see if we can accelerate our workflows.

We remember when MySpace was popular. Then we slowly stopped caring about our top 5, our logins diminished in frequency, and then we sorta forgot about it for the next platform. A few years later, you learned that the MySpace was decommissioned and you didn't care. Welcome to the future for X.

They probably would've been amazed that Sarah from the cul-de-sac designed it to look like a sterile contemporary American home: devoid of personality, distinguishing features, and filled with the same themes as the neighbor's home. It's nearly indistinguishable from the cosmic background radiation
