I would trust this fucker with my life

Mazed @fromthemazes.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

The problem is, after a decade and a half of being completely obsessed with Dark Souls and then Elden Ring, the sight of an undead knight, in faded yet noble raiment clad, grace of gold in their eyes despite the corruption of their flesh, is enough to immediately flare all of my neurons.

010

Mazed @fromthemazes.bsky.social · 18/09/2026

Every time I reach this part of the game I have to just stop and do nothing. I am serious when I say Elden Ring is far and beyond the most beautiful game I have ever played.

"You have so many hands, but I only needed two to beat you. ...imagine how powerful I'd be if I started grafting like an idiot." --Laillaco the Lost, Tarnished #EldenRing

Laillaco all up in Godrick's business with the most overpowered spirit ash in Elden Ring.

Elden Ring Dryleaf playthrough has begun. Alongside the DLC fist weapons, I took some liberties and made a long-lost Zamor warrior descendant. Limgrave has been conquered with my fists (plus a bit of sorcery and a CGS from *wildly* improbable RNG) kind of...easily? We'll see what Margit has to say.

She might look familiar, but she calls herself "Laillaco the Lost" here.

Somehow STILL discovering new things and places in this absolute unit of a game.

anyway here's my hastily scrawled contribution to celebrating our favorite stupid ice fairy and best Touhou character. Happy last three minutes of Cirno Day. #cirno #touhou #baka

Because at times, we need to recognize the importance of being unimportant.

Amalay is a Monk and Summoner at the same time, because they're the same thing, just one is external and needs a medium, the other is internal and needs only her body. Arcane formulae and chakras still exist, but it's very important to know she's punching you with a Primal. It's a bit like Stands.

someone on twitter posted this thing about how anime stereotypes are bad but I made an immaculate and high-effort edit to show how they can be good, using a certified Good Anime, maybe even the Best Anime.

Arg urg fuck I need to finish at least up the FFXI city storylines (only Windurst remains; purported best for last) but Elden Ring and the endings I still need to get...they call. Because I can finally get the horse to look as cool as me.

An adjusted illustration of this particular lizardgirl, with helpful explanations. #ffxiv #ffxivart

An illustration and description of Amalay Villca (Maral Malaguld if you're Xaela) with her names presented in two alphabets, one of which is real and neither of which are Latin.

Figured we'd cap this thing off with some proper artwork. Mind the overall roughness; I haven't done this for a while.

"It's the 30th of the Fourth Umbral, and the turning of the moon is, as always, cause for celebration, because it hasn't fallen on us, and we're still here. "So...want some of this?" [ #auraugust | #auraugust2026 | #au_ra | #xaela | #gposers ]

"Got this prescribed by a physicker in Sharlayan, but was surprised to find out it's illegal everywhere in Eorzea...except for Gridania, go figure. Naturally, Tuliyollal don't care."

Au Ra August miscellaneous camera mogging.

010

Mazed @fromthemazes.bsky.social · 30/08/2026

Age 13. Using an ancient dot-matrix printer to print out a huge ascii-art full body image of Lum from a dialup BBS on my Windows 3.1 computer, then painstakingly inking and coloring it in with markers. As basic an answer as she is, I can't honestly cite anyone else after going to that much effort.

"29th. In old times, they'd send a maiden into the peaks as a sacrifice. To ease her sorrow, they'd give her a flask of mezcal. If you ever find them, mummified by the frost, they say any remaining mezcal is the finest you'll ever taste." [ #auraugust | #auraugust2026 | #au_ra | #xaela | #gposers ]

"Today, we live in an age of enlightenment, for we now understand that if any god demands such sacrifices, we can just kill them."

"Day 27 - Uncharted. Well, that's easy, because I have no sense of direction. In Sharlayan they called it 'topographical agnosia.' I call it the reason my third rule is that I'm always exactly where I need to be. Beats worrying about it." [ #auraugust | #auraugust2026 | #au_ra | #xaela | #gposers ]

"Apparently I'm also Oschon's Special Princess. The Wanderer guides me in a probably really, really literal sense."

"26th: Memory. Years ago, I came to Eorzea... "...and I can't lie, I thought it was a hellhole. We get storms in Tuliyollal, but we never had a moon explode on us. But, I'm glad I stayed. The gods are trash but the people are treasure." [ #auraugust | #auraugust2026 | #au_ra | #xaela | #gposers ]

"You have to be a lunatic to want to get involved here. Guess I'm a lunatic."

"Faire's done, catching up. Number 25 was 'Aim.' This is Summoning practice. My Villca School channels Primals through the fists, feet, and sometimes skull, but to keep sharp, you have to be good at conjuring them the Allagan way too." [ #auraugust | #auraugust2026 | #au_ra | #xaela | #gposers ]

"I prefer to do this somewhere remote. If you manifest an angry demigod you want to be far away from bystanders."

000

Mazed @fromthemazes.bsky.social · 26/08/2026

This is Amalay Villca. She's a Tuliyollal-born Au Ra martial artist with no sense of direction both literally and figuratively. She is very wise and kind of a numbskull simultaneously. She is often correct, usually by accident.

"I couldn't look at their faces, all spectral and ghostlike. Maybe I regret that. Maybe I could've known their stories, stories brought to an abrupt end the second he brought them here. The only face that mattered that day was his. Because I was going to tear it off."

"Day 21: Sun. I wasn't born on the Steppe. For a long time, I never knew it existed. I never even saw anyone with scales like mine until I was an adult. So I ain't got much claim to Azim's heritage...but at least they got good food here." [ #auraugust | #auraugust2026 | #au_ra | #xaela | #gposers ]

"They did give me a proper Xaela name, though. 'Maral Malaguld.' Seems it's the most plain Auri name you can get, but at the same time there's no two Malagulds alike. Fine by me."

The point of playing Red Mage in Final Fantasy XI is to run around with 15-20 simultaneous buffs. My criticism is that looking directly at me doesn't cause an immediate retinal burn debuff to monsters. #ffxi

Look buddy, Mazed has been fully internet brainrotted for many years and now Amalay's loved ones are suffering for it.

Emphatically not. I try to think of my "relationship" with any character I come up with to be like, their biographer and occasional interviewer. However, since coming up with Amalay years ago, I admit there's a certain wish-fulfillment element in her total lack of shame and self-consciousness.
