"Incredibly funny action movie. What really stuck out to me outside of laughing during almost the whole thing is this movie is weirdly progressive in regards to the trans woman in this movie. Not one transphobic remark at all said, every character is just misogynistic towards her. Diversity win! Now this is probably because Dave Chappelle's character died before she appeared but still. Diversity win!"

Thunderbolts was alright. Didnt love it but enjoyed it - first half felt like kind of a drag but the second half hit decently hard for me. Final "fight" is great, its a good MCU movie. Its alright.

Nimona was a fun movie that had me going "wow, i wonder WHY disney didnt want this" sarcastically at least like 5 times (high praise!) Not a perfect movie but a really GREAT family/kids movie and its so so pretty to look at too from a visual and animation standpoint. Do go watch it

Dead or Alive 3 really sticks out to me as a launch title. Far less stuff to do than any of the Tekkens or SoulCaliburs of that gen but for a late '01 game to be good looking enough it could pass for a 360 title its just really impressive.

Had fun laughing at Shaq Fu for the GameBoy with a friend, realising crouch kicking was a sure fire way to win every fight was funny. This is not a good game at all in the slightest, the only praise I can give it is that the animation is pretty good but that goes for all versions of it. Not good.

Played through X-Men Mojo World for retrocheevos and it sure is a 1996 Master System (& Game Gear) game. Just really janky and kind of odd and not great, but not atrociously awful either. I can imagine someone having fond memories of this. Funny to remember this released the same year as the N64.

Issues 4 and 5 bring a nice conclusion to the first tpb and overall are just fun with a great fight and what feels like setup to something really interesting. Noticed TPB Vol.3 is out of stock on retailers I've checked nearby so I'm gonna put off reading more for now (i have vol 2.)

Issue 3 of Immortal Thor was a lot of fun, nothing big in scale but I enjoyed Thor having to play along with Loki's games. I also really, really, REALLY like how Loki is written and designed. If Loki is like this in any other comics I need to read those too.

I was at a very LEGO time in my life in May, because I also finished the new LEGO Batman. This is everything I've wanted for years out of both a new Batman AND a new LEGO game. Its a really funny time solo and a real joy to play multiplayer with younger family members. Its PG Arkham. Great game.

The Lego Movie is still just as funny to me as it was when I watched it in 2014, which maybe says more about me than anything but the film being such a good looking and incredibly animated even still is something I don't think is arguable by anyone. Its great. First movie I watched on 4K BR too

Watched on the 10th, Speed Racer is the most colorful, and eye catching movie I've ever seen. About the creation of art like itself, you need to make it despite the corporations who want total control of it, art is still beautiful. It also has the humor of a spy kids movie. Favorite of all time.

(I forgot to update this for a few days my bad) doin a quick Plasma Sword arcade playthrough to show it to a friend at the end of May 4th (well, may 5th since it was past midnight) was a fun way to end the day. Really fun to play fighter that doesnt feel too complex to just start playing casually.

The most suprising thing of last night's May the 4th Star Wars rewatch was the fact my parents: who disliked Star Wars when it first released, disliked it 20 years ago during the prequels releases - actually ended up enjoying the movie quite a bit so thats interesting to think about. Fun movie ofc.

i know little about Warhammer 40k so I'm not sure how well represented everything is as a whole but what I can say about Warhammer 40k Space Marine is that this is one of the most Xbox 360 video games of all time. Just a very unimpressive but fun, switch brain off shooter I wish he wore the helmet

Dunno what I'm supposed to say about Batman Year One that hasn't already been said a hundred times, it's foundational as a modern retelling of both Batman's and Commissioner Gordon's origin story. I love David Mazzucchelli's art for the book a lot, the cover for part 4 is one of my favorites.

(whoops I forgot to put this one on here) Darkstalkers arcade playthrough as Felicia was fun. Huitzil was absurdly difficult to the point Pyron was kind of a pushover in comparison. Fun game and great for Capcom's first non-Street based fighter, its two sequels absolutely improve on it though

I have no idea why I've always had a strange facination with the Power Rangers SNES game. I have never seen a full episode of the series, the game is fun but really basic for late 1994 and the final boss is a really annoying underbaked 1v1 fighting section with their mecha. Love the music though.

The setting and story and whatever of MK has started to grow on me, I like how everything feels like a 90s comic book. its neat. I still can't stand MK's gameplay even 9 games in. Stiff, clunky, and genuinely unbalanced - I wish MK would stop trying to be fighting game. they aint good at it

Doing my semi-annual revist to Sarasaland, this time in full colour thanks to another fan made patch - Super Mario Land DX. Honestly wonderful seeing this weird, kinda not great honestly but its really charming and fun so its ok actually, Mario game in full colour.

Dr Wily's Revenge is the closest Mega Man related thing I've played to torture, this game is just pure misery on a cartridge and I can't imagine how awful it would have been on an original DMG. Without a doubt the worst Mega Man game I've played and I really hope nothing is worse than this one.

Blazing Chrome was fun, it did what it set out to do in being a damn good contra-esque run n gun. It doesnt do anythin much past that but it succeeds at what it sets out to do with nice graphics and good music. I dont like all the vehicle sections, including the final boss though but thats just me

unable to sleep one night I played a random arcade game - Undercover Cops. Incredible sprite work in an otherwise sadly uninteresting belt scroller. Ripping out pillars from the floor to whack enemies with is cool and I like Rosa's design a ton but the game itself isn't that great imo.

found and started playing a lil Pico-8 game called Mai-Chan's Sweet Buns and its a fun little puzzle game I see myself coming back to. I should really check out some more Pico-8 games. Really suggest going and checking it out! Its free and playable in your browser.

decided right after to double feature and watch MK: Annihilation for the first time. This is a bad movie that the entire time I kept thinking of the "it was made for the fans" point people keep making about poor film adaptions of games now because of how many MK characters showed up here.

couldn't sleep last night so I just randomly rewatched the '95 Mortal Kombat movie. As someone who doesn't care much for for MK as a series this is a pretty fun movie with good fight scenes. Cheesy as hell and its honestly comedic that theres zero gore at times but its charming in that way.

I forgot how wacky Sunset Riders gets with its animations, its on a similar level to Konami's TMNT games but with cowboys at times like when someone gets squashed by a falling crate or etc. Fun arcade game, probably really hectic with a full 4 players

as a sequel to the original Street Fighter, Fatal Fury succeeds in everyway possible as an improvement to SF's singleplayer story focus - its difficulty leans on arcade bs to squeeze more money out of you, but with unlimited quarters its worth playing even just for the dialogue from Geese alone.

Slap Happy Rhythm Busters is a simple fightin game with a universal rhythm game super for every character. The gameplay feels really easy to pick up for a fighter of the era and the artstyle is something I wish we'd see done again by an indie or something, its rhythm ideas too. Fun late PSX game.

When I was a kid the VHS copy of Pokemon The First Movie I watched a ton had a promotional showcase of games before it and Pokemon Snap always intrigued me - I really loved photography as a kid. Its only now I sat down and played it all and yeah its a cute replayable lil on-rails shooter. I liked it
