An amendment offered by Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) erases language that protects national parks from being sold. It’s expected to be voted on WITHIN THE WEEK. Call your senators now and tell them to vote NO on Mike Lee’s despicable amendment.

The LADWP Commissioners approved a major water recycling & groundwater replenishment expansion. They stated that this will enable them to pause Mono Lake water diversions and allow the lake to rise to the healthy 6,392-foot elevation level—and make good on Los Angeles’s commitment to Mono Lake.

Tell the Assembly members to remove SB 131’s exemption for “advanced manufacturing” facilities exemption which will expose residents to impacts from toxic industrial projects and to amend SB 131’s definition of “natural and protected lands” to include habitat for sensitive species.

THIS 4TH OF JULY: keep the day FUN & ignite adventure, not wildfires! Opt out of fireworks. Make sure stoves/matches/cigarettes etc. are extinguished. Avoid parking/driving on vegetation: even exhaust & underinflated/damaged tires can spark fires! Have fun & leave no trace❤️

Cutting close to 200 California DFW staff while the agency is underfunded and understaffed would be a short-sighted move. With nationwide staff reductions making it harder to protect wildlife as it is, we urge #caleg and @governor.ca.gov‬ to reinstate these positions in the final state budget!
California condors flying above a valley. Black text over image with quotation marks and brackets on either side reads "The governor's proposal undoes nearly a decade of progress and leaves the management of more than 600 declining species in limbo." with "600 declining species" in bold and "Pamela Flick, Defenders of Wildlife California Program Director" below it.
