Image is of the Undertaker wrestling meme. He lurks in the background while a happy, seemingly oblivious wrestler stands in front of him. Text over the smiling guy reads "me after finally catching up on all my Phantom comics". Text over the Undertaker reads "Issue No 2025".

My Supanova haul... I could have bought so many from the various comic stalls, but chose issues based on the covers. I love that dynamic style from Tommy Hughes.

Photo shows a handful of Frew Phantom comics from the 600s and 700s. All bagged and boarded.

Just found this file in my cloud storage and remembered that I once searched Trove for the Phantom's first appearance in Australia. As you do! (Yes, yes... I know it's not Frew...) #thephantom

Photo is of page 49 from the September 1, 1936 issue of The Australian Woman's Mirror. It was taken from the Trove archive. It shows the beginning of a Phantom adventure and notably has been edited to say it's set in Sydney Harbour.

There is something immensely satisfying about holding a physical draft.

Photo shows FrewPhantomPhan's desk. It has a purple backlit keyboard, a mouse, a transparent PC tower which is lit up purple, and a thick bound document (AKA the review book draft #2). A hand is opening the book (to obscure the author's name, I suppose, but that won't be a secret by 2026!)

Progress report for The Book. My earlier reviews are a bit rough and some lack plot summaries! So I've had to lug my storage boxes up into my study, in order to quickly locate any issues that need updated reviews. Here is one of the culprits.

Photo shows issue No 1697 of The Phantom, as published by Frew Publications. It rests in top of a box containing approx 150 comics.

FINALLY

Photo is of an issue of The Phantom, as released by Frew Publications. It is issue No 2000 and the cover shows the Phantom posing in front of burning wreckage. On top of the comic is the latest and last pack of Phantom Philecards.

I knew it was coming up in my epic reread, but it was still a gut punch.

Photo is of issue 1663 of The Phantom, as published by Frew Publications. The story included is Rumble on the Jungle, reprinted in memoriam of Jim Shepherd, who wrote the story and rejuvenated Frew for decades.

Just chilling with the Christmas special... from 2012 🤣 Once I finish No 1678, I'll finally be all caught up with reviews. #thephantom #comic

Photo is of a Phantom comic, as published by Frew Publications. It's issue No 1651 (the 2012 Christmas special). The cover advertises 3 stories.

I first started writing reviews at No 1679 and I'm trying to catch up on the issues before then. So I recently re-read No 1619 and found this little gem in Jim Shepherd's editorial

Text reads:
In the not too distant future, some lucky Frew publisher will be putting the finishing touches to the magic 2,000th issue!
That's for the future!
Right now, have to concentrate on the 2011-2012 scenario!

Received both of these yesterday 🤨 Odd but hurray! Postie left the cardboard envelopes on the 1930s art deco table I keep in my mudroom. Very apt.

Photo shows the 2 newest issues of The Phantom as published by Frew Publications (#1954 and #1955). Also visible are 2 lots of Phantom Phile cards.

The postie just dropped this gorgeous issue on my porch

Photo is of issue #1952 of The Phantom and a set of Phantom Phile cards, both released by Frew Publications in Australia. The issue is celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Phantom being published by Frew and has a predominantly purple cover, showing the Phantom standing with his legs spread and pistols ready in his hands, as though he is squaring off against the reader.
