When I began in the grocery industry in the late ‘70’s, we still had, and used, a couple of these 100 key devices as adding machines and order transmitters. I just got good at it, and the entire industry flipped into scanners and bar codes.

My mom was in those book clubs in the seventies and eighties: Buy one book at full price and get five for a penny. Quit. Repeat. She turned me on to dozens of authors, mostly horror/sci-fi/fantasy/fiction. I read “Salem’s Lot” before anyone had heard of it. Many more. Thanks Mom.
