Scott @freksy.bsky.social · 05/05/2026As a new father of a little girl, I'd be so keen to go to one of these events. 010
Scott @freksy.bsky.social · 09/01/2026As much as I agree that there should be mandated warnings on all alcohol products... If a woman is drinking alcohol while pregnant, that's not at the fault of alcohol producers. It's very wide knowledge that alcohol during pregnancy is dangerous! Everyone learns this in sex-ed at school. 000
Scott @freksy.bsky.social · 24/11/2025While the cost of the new website is outrageous, the work has been ongoing for many years. When you read the breakdown in the costings, it sounds like the majority of the costs weren't on the website, but modernising outdated technology and equipment that could send data straight to the new website. 000
Scott @freksy.bsky.social · 18/11/2025And in 10 years everyone will be complaining "why aren't there any scientists in Australia!?"... 🤦♂️ 140
Scott @freksy.bsky.social · 16/11/2025You can't "Run an orange"... That's not a thing. There is a gap of a few seconds between the orange turning to red, and other lanes turning from red to green... I understand that he was speeding and negligent, but running the orange wasn't the issue - his speed and wreckless driving was the issue. 000
Scott @freksy.bsky.social · 13/11/2025Yeah, what does "Tone death" mean? Was this an AI written article? 120
Scott @freksy.bsky.social · 30/10/2025I worry about the monopoly issue too... But I worry more about every studio and publisher having their own stupid games launcher. Look at what happened after Netflix became popular. In their defence - Steam has always, and is currently, doing great things to push for more open and available gaming. 000
Scott @freksy.bsky.social · 15/10/2025I haven't actually played around with the custom kernel manager... I've found the one that ships with the OS to be fantastic. I'm already getting bleeding edge updates, mostly thanks to Arch's rolling updates 🙂. 000
Scott @freksy.bsky.social · 14/10/2025I switched over a year ago, to Pop!_OS. But when I upgraded my computer a few months ago to the latest AMD graphics card, I needed the latest drivers, and Pop!_OS was spending too much of their development time on their new COSMIC desktop environment. So now I'm rocking CachyOS. 😁 120
Scott @freksy.bsky.social · 16/09/2025Maybe this decision will speed up the modernisation of the rail network. 🤷♂️ 000
Scott @freksy.bsky.social · 28/07/2025This might not come as a shock, since you're talking about them being so secretive... But I had no idea the Albanese government were being less transparent than the Morrison government! 000
Scott @freksy.bsky.social · 30/03/2025You can say that about every government regulation - it's very difficult to make a water-tight piece of legislation. It's why large corporations hire teams of lawyers - to find loopholes. Then the government updates and alters the legislation to make it more difficult... It's a leap-frog scenario. 120

Scott @freksy.bsky.social · 10/03/2025You're totally correct, but Labor are guilty of amending their contracts too. They don't do it as prolifically, but they do do it. 031
Scott @freksy.bsky.social · 03/03/2025While I don't disagree with you, Australia has had very reliable allies in both the US and the UK for more than a century! It's really disheartening that one single change in leader has destabilised that reliability. 020
