Oh yeah, I guess that makes sense, croissants would be a bit flat without yeast

I'm sorry, but aren't they the same thing? Croissants are just a rolled up triangle of puff pastry.

Whoever decided to put a third weird round in Crowd Control on Dropout... Why? It's the worst part of the episode, just make round 1 and 2 longer.

I found it really boring, at no point did the story hook me. It started and I was "Yeah I don't care about this drunk"

Not that anybody asked, but I found the last 4 episodes of Game Changer season 8 disappointing. While they all looked like the players had a great time participating in the games, I found the viewing experience lacking, often too messy to follow, or plain unfunny and uncomfortable at times.

Are you fucking serious right now? You complain that your new keyboard might have "glyphs" instead of full text for some keys? Glyphs that have been common for decades in non-English countries, by the way. Glyphs are better because you don't need to translate them. Like our road signs.

Fun game, I found without help, a rare word no one else had found today, and two more rare words... after that I started cheating and fed the letters to a scrabble website. I'm honest enough to admit I'm not honest enough in gaming to play this game 😅

Quick PSA. Looking at you, local orgs and small businesses.
Crudely drawn bunny character holding a pencil, messy hand lettering surrounds them in orange to green gradient color. It says in all caps:

Stop using AI for your flyers & logos! They look like shit, everybody thinks so! Seriously, you’re losing business. Just make it yourself or hire a real artist.

I've read the first 3 Tower of Somnus. Thanks for the recommendation. The first 2 were good, the third really went downhill, so many choices I don't understand or agree with. I won't be reading the other books in the series.

I like scifi, fantasy, urban fantasy, post-apocalyptic. I don't like horror, vilains stories or monster pov. I haven't heard of Tower of Somnus and will give it a try. The Ritualist doesn't look interesting to me. And Chrysalis is a no go, I don't want to read the life of man turned ant.

Sadly, I either read (and enjoyed), read (and really didn't like, which is the majority), or had no interest in trying every book mentioned in this infographic.

Did you know? In France nightjars are known as "Caprimulgidés", from the Latin Carprimulgus, meaning "Goat suckers" because it was believed they sucked on the goat's udders at night.

I like reading LitRPG: reality is a game, numbers go up. It's fun and pleases my brain. But the amount of unedited trash and Gen-AI stuff that get "published" as books in this genre is awful. It makes it really hard to find something to read. Any LitRPG readers have book recommendations?

Yeah, that would be one way to do it. This year expecting the noise, I got earplugs, and wrote down my orders on my phone and showed them to cooks. I felt really bad for them, because even with my earplugs it was still very loud, and they didn't have any, and had to stay there while I could leave.

Two years in a row, my small town organized a food truck festival, and both times they started it with very loud percussions played live right in front of the food trucks for at least an hour, making ordering any food from them almost impossible. I don't understand why they do that.

I haven't used Photoshop in a few years, I wasn't aware Layer Comps were a thing until just now. So as current InDesign user, no, I don't understand how Layer Comps work.

The scary thing is some people do ask AI to design things for them to build and then actually ride in them, or ask AI to tune their car engine, or suspension geometry or a wide variety of things that I find incredibly dangerous.

Anyone who replies with depressing thoughts like "This is the new normal" or "we reap what we sow" is getting blocked. I'm well aware of climate change. I was venting to the void, I don't need your comments on top of it.

Drink plenty of water, hopefully you have at least a fan and or a pool/lake/sea. It's tough but when it's only a few days you can get through it. 40°C is 17°C above the seasonal norm for my area, so we're not built or prepared for it either.

Temperatures didn't go under 30°C last night. Woke up at 6am, was 31°C. It's only getting worse throughout the day. Luckily this should be the last day of the heat wave for my area. 4 or 5 days at around 40°C was more than enough for me. I'm in west coast France, in June, this is not normal.

Just received a phone call from someone trying to sell me something. I usually just hang up, but this I decided to try something new, I started repeating the word "No" while he was talking, just a constant barrage of "Nos", and yet he still talked for 51 seconds before giving up and ending the call

I don't think so, if any time I drew something I had to stop and think about who I wanted to like it and limit myself to one color palette that I might hate in 2 weeks because of my ADHD... I would never draw anything, I wouldn't find any joy in it. I draw for me.

Tonight YouTube started interceding community post images between the videos in my feed. It's pissing me off so much. I go to YouTube for videos not static images. Plus it's from channels I don't know, additionally there is some religious bullshit quoting the bible. And... Fuck that noise!

That's good, I'm glad you gave her a proper answer. I remember when I was a kid my mom, who was a nurse, had no problem explaining how it worked, but we also had books at home (and at school) explaining everything in a manner understandable by children.

Twice today I thought something was wrong with my computer, first Youtube videos were stuck in 0.1 second loop and I couldn't fast forward. Then a few hours later, drag and drop stopped working. In both instances, it was just because a random object was pressing a key on my keyboard.

Things about US houses that baffle me as a European: -Houses built out of wood and drywall with skinny flimsy walls -Guillotine style windows that can't fully open -No shutters on windows -Loose insolation in attics making them unusable I'm sure there is more that I can't think of right now.
