Good thinking ! I was trying to memorize the difference in their profile and size, and then I realized if I was that close to a bear, I would not be analyzing the shape of their nose, or if their shoulders are rounded…. 🤓

As a former smoker who still struggles with the desire to smoke, the idea of these guys taking it up is really helpful. Like Bogart and Bacall made it look cool to me as a kid, the tech bros expose the extreme stupidity and grossness.

Damn. What a photo! Wow. A coyote ran past me recently - incredible speed - and the experience of making eye contact with a wild animal, even for a split second, is so special and profound. Add to it that a bison (I’m pretty sure) could end you - Good job grabbing your camera!

Tbh the only time I saw a bear was at a Canadian dump. I started walking towards the bear to get a better look, like I was in a bear trance 😵‍💫 My friends grabbed me and said: Do not walk towards the bear. I’m a little bit sympathetic to people being stupid around wild animals.

You can’t tell what kind of bear it is by its color. I’ve wondered this myself, so I looked it up. Black bears are less aggressive than grizzly bears, depending on the situation, like are the cubs close by. Black bears can be any color, including brown. So far, I’ve avoided bears 😬
