Nature was naked, and I was also. -Walt Whitman . . #nudeoutdoor #normalizenudity #normalizenaked #nakedinnature #nakednature #getnaked #explorenaked #skinandsea
Nude on a boat on open sea.

Whitman’s “Nature was naked, and I was also” becomes more interesting when nakedness is not entirely fearless.

Nakedness holds two impulses at once: the desire to look outward and the reluctance to face what lies ahead. A thin boundary can become a temporary vantage point, a narrow edge from which one can look into the open sea and toward the future without fully entering it.

The sea makes the human figure small. Nakedness makes it elemental. The sail makes it human.

Sector boundary confirmation. Awaiting further orders. May the fourth be with you. Except where prohibited by the Empire. #nakedstormtrooper #nudeinnature #freehiking #fineartphotography
A lone stormtrooper stands in a quiet desert clearing. No armor, no weapon, no gear. His body is nude, human, unprotected. There is no command, no support. Still, he continues his patrol.

“Perimeter secure.”

The routine holds. The assignment persists without context. The infrastructure hums on without him.

He stands where function outlives purpose, where the role remains even after the system has disappeared.

Arrived just in time to witness another statue being put up by the river. Proof that great art requires both vulnerability and questionable balance, this stuntwork sculpture is a meditation on escape and transitory balance. #nudeart #artnude #fineartphotography #nakedoutdoors
A bold installation at the waterfront: the figure caught mid-clamber, neither fully ascending nor descending, as if unsure whether art imitates life or just an awkward workout. The bridge arches behind with stoic indifference, while the river reflects everything but the effort of this lone body. It is at once heroic and ridiculous — a study in balance, vulnerability, and the eternal human urge to be somewhere else.

I love the dark hours of my being. They deepen the senses… Then, like colors that aren’t yet known, Roads appear in the mist And mountains stand quietly in the distance. Rainer Maria Rilke The Book of Hours #naturist #nakedinnature #getnaked #hikenude #explorenaked #artnude
Walks in the early hours before sunrise carry an air of solitude — a private exposure to the air, to the self, and to the unfiltered now. The world seems half-made, its edges blurred, still forming in the hush. It belongs to you alone.

The mist and the chill on the skin, the firmness of ground beneath feet — these sensations sharpen when barriers fall away. A nude hike becomes a sensory conduit to awareness, each step a quiet unveiling.

The mist shifts perception, painting the air in colors that resist names; a blue with wisps of vermillion, an ochre that fades to aureolin before cooling into turquoise. Each hue exists for only moments before it is replaced by the next.

As one walks, the path appears step by step, revealed only in motion. The mist’s boundaries remain invisible until, suddenly, a single step more thrusts you beyond it. The journey is sensory and spiritual. It is a movement wrapped in trust, carrying you through the unknown.

The trail asks little. You carry what you need. The rest you leave behind. -Summer Solstice 2025 #freehike #nakedinnature #nakedhikeday
Summer solstice hike

There’s something fitting about walking exposed to the elements on the longest day of the year. Not for boldness or spectacle, but for simplicity. No layers between skin and sun, between breath and wind. The rhythm of footsteps, the sound of gravel shifting underfoot, the warm air rising from the trail — all of it pulls you into the present. No hurry, no destination beyond the next turn.

The body adjusts to the climb, to the light, to the warmth. Discomfort becomes a companion you work with rather than against. And as you move, you start to notice the small things: the curve of the ridgeline, the patterns in the dirt, the way the sun arcs across the afternoon sky. The trail asks little, but gives back its own kind of peace.

When the sun warms my bare skin and the canyon echoes my breath, I am not seeking meaning—I am becoming it. #freehike #nudeinnature #artnude #naturist
There is no script out here, no roles to play, no mirrors to distort with demands. Freed from the choreography of civilization, I walk nude in rhythm with the earth itself—raw, exposed, and honest. The canyon doesn’t offer answers or ask questions. It simply exists, and in that simplicity, I do the same.

Existentialism posits that we are cast into the world and left to create our own purpose. Here, in this golden expanse carved by time and silence, purpose feels irrelevant. Not because life is empty, but because it is enough. The sun is more than metaphor, it is felt as heat on my skin, the whispering canyon winds as cooling breath on my body. My breath and footfalls are a proof: I am alive, and in that aliveness has its own affirmation. The canyon does not need me, and yet, by being here, I am part of its momentary truth.

To hike nude through such terrain is an act of return. In this place, stripped of everything but breath and movement, I am not performing significance. I am significance—fragile, fleeting, and utterly real. The world may never notice this moment. But I will. And that is enough.

Naturism, for me, isn’t about fair weather or comfort—it’s about presence. I go nude at dawn, on cold beaches, amongst misty trees. It’s not about exhibition or ease. It’s about authenticity, stepping outside the frame others set, and meeting nature honestly. #naturism #nudebeach #nakedhiker
Some see naturism as something just for summer—something to try when it’s convenient, warm, and easy.
But I’ve always felt it differently.

T.S. Bremer writes,

“The poet goes into nature to strip away the layers of disguise that society demands.”

And that stripping away isn’t seasonal. It’s spiritual. It’s about presence, not temperature.
Some wait for the sun. But for a true naturist, it’s also about meeting the world unarmored and unadorned—whether it’s hospitable or not.

“The earth laughs in flowers.” —Ralph Waldo Emerson #naturist #nakedhike
Spring doesn’t ask permission—it bursts, it giggles, it flings petals into the wind like confetti from the earth itself. Flowers don’t wait for an invitation to bloom, and neither should we. There’s something deliciously rebellious in joy that’s uncontained. Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, “The Earth laughs in flowers”—and maybe, just maybe, it dances in bare feet too.

Another week—another protest. Caption contest: “In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer.” – Albert Camus “There’s something happening here / But what it is ain’t exactly clear.” – Buffalo Springfield Or suggest one #nudeoutdoors #bodypaint #nudeinpublic
This weekend at City Hall, time and space ran short—but outrage ran wide.
“Hands Off!” protests against administrative overreach, anti-DEI policies, and systemic disenfranchisement shared the pavement with a rolling band of body-positive WNBR cyclists demanding visibility and cyclist rights.
One side raised fists and placards; the other disrobed and lifted handlebars.
And in between them stood an orange tiger—defiant, singular. A participant in both, yet oddly separated from either.
When it comes to diversity, who better to demand inclusion than the one who stands out?

I need the sea because it teaches me. I don’t know if I learn music or awareness, if it’s a single wave or its vast existence, or only its harsh voice or its shining suggestion.. —Paul Neruda (The Sea) #naturist #nudebeach #nakedinnature
Paul Neruda’s poem flows like water itself—its free verse rises and fall unconstrained by meter or rhyme. It is solitude, a lyrical surrender to natures pull, and it is transformation through immersion in the natural world. We are the driftwood: weathered, reshaped and cast ashore.

The Sea
Paul Neruda

“I need the sea because it teaches me.
I don’t know if I learn music or awareness,
if it’s a single wave or its vast existence,
or only its harsh voice or its shining
suggestion of fishes and ships.
The fact is that until I fall asleep,
in some magnetic way I move in
the university of the waves.

It’s not simply the shells crunched
as if some shivering planet
were giving signs of its gradual death;
no, I reconstruct the day out of a fragment,
the stalactite from the sliver of salt,
and the great god out of a spoonful.

What it taught me before, I keep. It’s air
ceaseless wind, water and sand.

It seems a small thing for a young person,
to have come here to live with his own fire;
nevertheless, the pulse that rose
and fell in its abyss,
the crackling of the blue cold,
the gradual wearing away of the star,
the soft unfolding of the wave
squandering snow with its foam,
the quiet power out there, sure
as a stone shrine in the depths,
replaced my world in which were growing
stubborn sorrow, gathering oblivion,
and my life changed suddenly:
as I became part of its pure movement.”

Thinking of an image fit for April Fools, I reflect on Death Valley I’ve had cupping from acupuncturists before, but then I let a masseuse try—came out looking like a Jackson Pollock in plum The body remembers everything it’s felt—and now it can live on the internet #naturist #massage
Apparently this is what happens when your chi has been idling in traffic. Cupping is meant to release stagnation—when done by practiced hands. Otherwise, it turns into something more like an art school project. My back now looks like a lunar phase chart combined with a Jackson Pollock painting in hues of plum.

When trauma and relaxation meet, you get circles that speak in bruises. One moment you’re relaxed, the next you’re a bruise map for the gods. One could read braille off the trauma and it says “ouch.”

Happy April Fools—
Wishing you the best. If you’re lucky, it only lasts for a day.

“I am living. I remember you. The breeze like a hand brushing me. There is something in the way the light filters through the branches this morning that wasn’t there yesterday, or I never saw it.” “What the Living Do” by Marie Howe #naturist #nakedinnature #nakedhike
I was walking along a bank yesterday and noticed trees with gentle overhangs that held hidden spaces. I thought of the perspective from within, and what unexpected treasures one might glimpse passing by.

This poem by Marie Howe seems full of small, veiled awakenings. The “something” felt in the light isn’t explained—just noticed. It’s like seeing or recognizing something familiar in the light when it wasn’t expected. Like the light’s playful dance through the branches—and the fleeting figure of a nude man basking in the morning sun.

“All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent.” -Thomas Jefferson #naturism #nudeart #teslatakedown #nudeprotest March 29th, 2025
Innovation is not exempt from accountability.
Freedom isn’t a gift handed down by the powerful—it’s a claim we make daily in how we speak, what we buy, and where we choose to stand.

What happens when the man behind the machines scorns the public he needs to sustain him? Has the myth of innovation become a mask for unchecked power?

Thomas Jefferson warned:

“The end of democracy and the defeat of the American Revolution will occur when government falls into the hands of lending institutions and moneyed incorporations.”

When a moneyed titan dominates multiple spheres—transportation, media, satellites, ideology—the line between eccentric genius and authoritarian steward disappears.
He once looked like the future. His present divisive actions drag us back to the age of robber barons, where unchecked wealth wrotes the rules.

Should we support a system that asks consumers to fund their disenfranchisement?
To buy a product from a man who mocks workers, fires dissenters, and manipulates discourse with the same hand he uses to sell?

Silence—whether dressed in apathy, convenience, or brand loyalty—becomes complicity. What we tolerate from a titan, we would never accept from a stranger. He is not immune to pressure— and we don’t need a chainsaw. The companies need customers and public approval and their boards needs consent.

There may be countless paths laid before you, but none will be yours unless you walk them for yourself. — Thus Spoke Zarathustra (1883) #naturist #nudeinnature #freehike #neitzsche
No one else can define your journey— and only you can walk it. It’s empowering and unsettling that our actions and being is what makes our future. To meet our destiny we must forge our own path:

“You Must Become Who You Are”

“You must be ready to burn yourself in your own flame; how could you rise anew if you have not first become ashes? The one who climbs upon the highest mountains laughs at all tragic plays and tragic realities. And so, I tell you: You must become who you are. No one can build you the bridge on which you, and only you, must cross the river of life. There may be countless paths laid before you, but none will be yours unless you walk them for yourself.”

We are not destroying the world because we are clumsy. We are destroying it because we are, in a very real sense, gods. We create, and what we create outstrips our control. —Richard Powers (The Overstory) #naturist #freehike #nudeinnature #artnude
The dilemma of human inventiveness is how our ability to shape the world inevitably leads to its destruction.

Richard Powers, in The Overstory, warns that our destruction of the environment is not accidental—not mere carelessness or lack of foresight. Rather, it is the inevitable consequence of our unrestrained ambition. We are not clumsy engineers, but overconfident creators, blind to the limits of our god-like power of invention—a force that has long since outpaced our ability to govern it.

Humanity is trapped in an endless cycle:
	1.	We invent to solve problems.
	2.	Our inventions create new problems.
	3.	We respond with more inventions.
	4.	Each solution accelerates unintended consequences.

In The Question Concerning Technology, Martin Heidegger warns that technology is not neutral—it shapes our world in ways beyond our control, leading to crises we cannot predict or reverse.

We are no longer mere stewards of the planet—we have become engineers of its fate. Like the gods of mythology, our hubris drives us ever forward, even as our reach exceeds our wisdom.

Karl Marx described capitalism as a system of self-cannibalizing growth, where economic expansion inevitably leads to resource depletion and collapse. Joseph Schumpeter called it “creative destruction”—a system in which progress disrupts and replaces old systems, often violently.

Has humanity lost the ability to stop the destruction it can already see unfolding?

If humans have become gods, then we must also learn the hardest lesson of them and our friendly neighborhood wall-crawler:
“With great power comes great responsibility.”

If we fail to rise to meet that responsibility, we may meet the fate of all gods who forget their own limits—ruin at their own hands.

Winter solitude— in a world of one color the sound of wind. Matsuo Bashō (1644–1694) #naturist #artnude #freehike #nudeinnature #nudemodel
In the spirit of Matsuo Bashō, the wandering poet of Edo-period Japan, I hope this image evokes the same raw simplicity, solitude, and quiet connection with nature found in his timeless haiku.

Bashō was a poet and a seeker—one who left behind luxuries of worldly life to travel on foot, embracing the fleeting beauty of nature.

Like Bashō’s winter landscape, this scene is stripped to its essence—one figure, one horizon, one vast world of earth and sky. Just as Bashō found poetry in the hush of snow and wind, here we find it in the sun-bleached grasses, the open expanse, and the unguarded presence of a body merging with the land. Stillness and movement, presence and impermanence, solitude and oneness—there is no separation.

As Bashō himself once wrote:
“Do not seek to follow in the footsteps of the wise; seek what they sought.”

In the face of the vast and indifferent sea, dare to say yes. Yes to life, to art, to the wild and unrepeatable story only you can tell. #naturist #nudeinnature #nudebeach #camus #artnude
Camus writes that true freedom lies in embracing life without illusion—choosing to affirm beauty and existence in defiance of meaninglessness.

“The sea does not ask for purpose, nor does the horizon demand explanation. They exist, vast and unyielding, as do you. In the face of an indifferent world, say yes. Yes to life, to beauty, to the rebellion of being fully yourself. There is no script to follow, no fate to submit to—only the quiet certainty that each step forward, each breath taken beneath this open sky, is an act of creation. To live is to defy; to be free is to choose.”

Camus’ ideas on rebellion, freedom, absurdity and beauty can be found in “The Myth of Sisyphus” and “The Rebel”.

“The tree is alone, the man is alone. But the man has in him something the tree does not: the knowledge of his solitude.” —Antoine de Saint-Exupéry – Wind, Sand, and Stars #naturist #nudeinnature #freehiker
Survival is not just endurance, but about carrying the memory of what no longer stands. The tree continues without reflection; the man is burdened with it. Knowledge is a gift and a wound—the thing that sets us apart, and the thing that makes aloneness so profoundly human.

To endure is to be exposed, to exist despite the weight of emptiness. The tree and the nude are both vulnerable yet triumph above the surroundings.

In Wind, Sand, and Stars, Saint-Exupéry often writes of isolation—not as mere physical solitude, but as the profound awareness of one’s own aloneness in the world.
“The tree is alone, the man is alone. But the man has in him something the tree does not: the knowledge of his solitude.”
The tree simply exists, as nature does—without regret, without longing, without the weight of a loss.

The human, however, can carry the weight of quiet survival. The tree and the man both endure, but man is also a witness. And in that witnessing, man unlocks an understanding of the tragic.

When a nude figure turns away from the camera and gazes into the landscape, it becomes a quiet invitation—to see, to feel, to exist in the same space, if only for a moment. This is my Wanderer Above the Fog. Repost and share your naturist photo that captures this moment. #naturist #nudeinnature
Wanderer Above the Sea of Fog is an iconic painting by Caspar David Friedrich, a German Romantic artist known for landscapes that explore themes of solitude, nature, and the sublime.

This homage, like Friedrich’s painting, creates a sense of invitation and reflection. By facing away from the viewer, the subject becomes a stand-in for the audience, drawing them into the landscape and its emotional depth.

What’s Similar?
	•	A solitary figure stands with his back to the viewer, perched on a rocky outcrop.
	•	He gazes into a vast, mist-covered landscape, where mountains and valleys fade into the fog.
	•	His stance is confident yet contemplative, suggesting both dominance over nature and deep introspection.

Why Is It So Powerful?
	•	The figure’s back is turned, inviting the viewer to step into his place and share his perspective.
	•	It embodies the Romantic ideal—nature as something overwhelming, beautiful, and unknowable.
	•	The fog adds an element of mystery, symbolizing the unknown, the future, or existential uncertainty.

What’s Different?

One of them is naked. And maybe, in that vulnerability, even closer to the sublime.

In my naturist photos, I push the subject deeper in the frame to create tension between figure and background. The human form merges with nature, in the naturescape, inviting the viewer to engage equally—presence without dominance, vulnerability without exhibition, connection without intrusion.

To tread nude into the world is to embrace the unknown. In every step, nature returns far more than one seeks—but only if one dares to go. #naturist #nakedhike #nudeinnature #artnude
To walk nude into the world is to embrace the unknown—to tread where the earth stretches vast and indifferent, where no path is laid but the one you choose to make. There are no voices but the wind, no comfort but your own resolve. It is here, in the quiet and the solitude, that calmness and freedom settle. The land does not care if you turn back or press on, but if you dare to walk forward, if you dare to trust your own two feet against the rock and dust, you will find that you are not lost. You are exactly where you were meant to be.

The struggle is not against the mountain, the cold, nor the ceaseless winds but against the self. To press onward despite nature’s indifference, to carve meaning against the rock—this is what it means to will oneself into existence. #naturism #nudeinnature #freehike #neitzsche
The higher we soar, the smaller we appear to those who cannot fly.

A man stands before the mountain and is struck by its enormity. It does not care for him. It does not move for him. The cold does not ease, the wind does not soften. He is insignificant before it. And yet—he climbs.

The struggle is not against the mountain, nor against the cold, nor against the ceaseless winds. The struggle is against the self. To surrender to weakness, to kneel before the forces of nature—this is the easy path, the path of those who never begin. But to rise each day, to press onward despite the storm, to carve meaning into the indifferent rock—this is what it means to will oneself into existence.

Man does not conquer the mountain. He conquers himself in the act of climbing.

When the real feels more unreal than illusion, is it the world that’s changed—or just our perception? “We don’t see the world as it is, but as we are.” – Kant #naturist #nudeinnature #artnude #freehike #kant
We don’t see the world as it is, but as we are.

Kant posited that reality is never truly ours to grasp—what we call “real” is a version shaped by our minds, filtered through perception. The natural can feel otherworldly, the ordinary surreal, not because the world has changed, but because we are always changing

Baudrillard suggests that in a world saturated with images and reflections, the real and unreal blur until they become indistinguishable. When the real begins to feel more unreal than illusion, what is left to hold onto?

Reality isn’t something fixed, but something that’s chased—always just beyond reach and reshaped by the act of looking and interacting with it.

There was a deep, still loneliness in the world, and the deeper it was, the more clearly it could be seen… His longing was not for companionship, but for that unique isolation—an isolation that was not sad, but that filled the world with a certain purity.. -Mishima #nudeinnature #freehike #naturism
A man meditates on an individual’s isolation when confronting the vastness of existence, standing at the precipice between human desires and limits of self.

“There was a deep, still loneliness in the world, and the deeper it was, the more clearly it could be seen. He was standing at the edge of an abyss, a precipice, that only he could see. The darkness seemed to stretch out into eternity, and in its depths, he could find no anchor, no handhold. His longing was not for companionship, but for that unique isolation—an isolation that was not sad, but that filled the world with a certain purity of being. He was alone, and that was all there was to it. In the abyss, he was a singularity, a human being alone with his own fate.”

The mountains finally catch fire, fall into ashes, the ashes flow into the rivers, the rivers burn, the sea boils, the sky ignites. La Fontaine aux Étoiles” by René Daumal #firedamage #naturism #nudeinnature #ProtectOurForests #nakedinnature #hikenude #freehiking

The True Cost of Carelessness: Human-Caused Forest Fires
Humans cause 80-90% of wildfires, leaving decades of damage in their wake. Fires destroy habitats, erode soil, pollute water, release CO2, and devastate communities. Some ecosystems may take over 100 years to recover.

How to Help:
	•	Fully extinguish campfires
	•	Dispose of cigarettes properly
	•	Follow fire bans and restrictions
	•	Report fires immediately
	•	Educate others about fire safety

Preventing wildfires is in our hands. Let’s protect nature for future generations.

As the sun rises, it does not command; it simply illuminates, spreading light softly across the sand. Freedom, too, is a blank canvas, waiting to be shaped. In the glow of morning, we are reminded: we are the painters of our lives, the architects of our meaning. #naturist #nudebeach #artnude

"The only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so absolutely free that your very existence is an act of rebellion" - Albert Camus #naturism #artnude
A male, walking down a road, nude, acting out in social rebellion: The Rebel by Albert Camus:

“What is a rebel? A man who says no: but whose refusal does not imply a renunciation. He is also a man who says yes, from the moment he makes his first gesture of rebellion. A slave who has taken orders all his life suddenly decides that he cannot obey some new command. What does he mean by saying ‘no’? He means, for example, that ‘this has been going on too long,’ ‘up to this point yes, beyond it no,’ ‘you are going too far,’ or, again, ‘there is a limit beyond which you shall not go.’ In other words, his no affirms the existence of a borderline.”

Hiking into nature unclothed is like stepping into freedom. The air feels lighter, the mind clearer, and every step reminds one of how good it feels to just — be. #nudehiker #freehiker #naturism

Seasonal Naturism: Embracing the Joys of Winter as a Naturist
When people think of naturism, images of sunny beaches, warm breezes, and lush greenery often come to mind. But for dedicated naturists, the lifestyle doesn’t end when temperatures drop.

I get suspicious when people say they discovered #naturism. Is it truly? Or is it a rediscovery—remembering the forgotten, noticing the overlooked, or valuing what’s always been there? Is it like discovering broccoli? It’s always mixed with the carrots and peas.. and then one day you recognize it?

Hooray! The moderation service has finally flipped all my content to non-sexual nudity. I turned off the adult content moderation setting, but now I see that a lot of people have had content misclassified. Put in those appeals because I’m not going back to the Wild West of Adult Content

On road trips take breaks every 100 miles: stop, #getnaked and take a hike. Being #clothesfree in nature can reduce stress and anxiety while boosting mood and, foster a greater connection with oneself, others and the natural world. . . #nudeoutdoor #naturista #normalizenudity #artnude #nudeinnature
Non sexual nudity. An image of a nude male demonstrate healthy driving habits.
When on the road for long periods of time, NHTSA and AAA recommend taking regular breaks: stop every 2 hours or 100 miles and stretch and walk around. Hiking provides cardiovascular exercise, strengthens muscles and can improve overall physical fitness. Being in nature can reduce stress and anxiety while boosting mood and relaxation. Connecting with nature also boosts creativity and cognitive function, enhances concentration and focus, and fosters a sense of awe and appreciation for the natural world. Being clothesfree further can result in increased comfort, improved body image and self-confidence, enhanced sensory experiences, and foster a greater connection with oneself, others and the natural world. Next time on the road, don’t forget to take care of oneself. Get out and take a hike in nature.
