There is no guaranteed kill method. So unless you’re baking in ‘this amount of suffering is okay,’ there is no solution.

Hunting requires you take every precaution to make the kill as clean as possible. And sometimes they’re still alive. And folks have been shot at all ranges (be self and others) and lived.
