I highly recommend Molly Gaudry’s ‘Fit Into Me’ - her latest book is a combination of memoir and fiction that’s fantastic to read. I hope especially that Korean kids in the diaspora, including and especially adoptees, find her book.

Be aware and beware of random accounts on social media that on the surface align with you politically. Inevitibly, those accounts will be aligned with online Nazis, whose goals are to waste your time, spread their rhetoric, and win people over to their violent, authoritarian ideaology.

I think that time spent tsk-tsking a kind of quasi-institution called ‘the media’ in the U.S. is time wasted. Criticism is fair, but it’s time spent in and with those disappointing sources - and the criticism itself doesn’t change them.

Days like today, I can’t explain it, but it’s like I can feel despair around me. It’s not psychic or magic, I feel it through words, and facial expressions, the sounds of people’s voices. It hurts. Like, I get headaches and feel nauseous.

I spent years working in bars and restaurants of all kinds, and learned a lot about food handling, food safety and cooking. And for whatever reason, I only recently started using this knowledge at home. EXAMPLE: food labeling is SIMPLE and makes everything easier. It makes FIFO easier, too.

So, when I first watched The Bear, I got through two episodes of season 1, and didn't like it. Then a year or so later, I randomly saw a season 2 episode called 'Forks.' I tried a few more episodes, but couldn't get into it. But I watched 'Forks' a BUNCH of times. And then I rewatched the pilot.
