I know you described Truth Scrapper as a "pronouns game" jokingly once, as well as all the characters being queer/genderfluid and bi. In all seriousness, what drove you to make a game that is very fluid in gender, sexuality, and pronouns? Is this just a natural part of Truth Scrapper's world?

I saw Rocky Horror for the first time a few years back, and Curry's performance is so full of confidence and delightfully fun. I wish I had that effortless confidence, that security in my sexuality and gender.

This feels like some kind of sick joke...I don't know as much about Dolly or Tim Curry as other folks do, but I do remember how I was introduced to them as a kid: Aunt Dolly and Auntie Whispers.

The amount of detail in these films man...I doubt we'll spend more than a minute or two in the protagonist's bedroom and yet they took the time to handcraft it into something that looks real and lived in. No one is doing it like the artists at Laika.

Very excited to be a part of the cover reveal for Logan-Ashley Kisner (@transhorrors.bsky.social )'s next book, Trans Panic! It's a YA horror novel with a trans girl protagonist, the latter of which still feels fairly rare in YA. Preorders are up now if you want to support trans authors!

The description for Trans Panic!:

In this propulsive, heart-pounding, gender-norm challenging horror novel, a maniac killer descends on a trans gender summer camp and the campers all become targets--or is one actually the killer? From the author of Old Wounds, sleepaway camp has never been so deadly.
For the last twenty years, trans and genderqueer youth have flocked to Camp New Horizons, a trans-exclusive summer camp hidden in Upstate New York. This year, though, the vibe is off.
Newcomer Angela Baker is still reeling from a violent trauma and wants nothing to do with Camp New Horizons. In her mind, transness only puts a target on your back--it's nothing to celebrate, which is all the other campers seem to want to do. Her attitude doesn't exactly make her popular, least of all with her cousin and his friends.
But Angela's refusal to participate is only a harbinger of darker things. As the days pass, campers begin to go missing. Then menacing vandalism appears throughout camp, and the teens can feel it in the air: What has always been a sanctuary is no longer a safe space. Has an outsider discovered New Horizons--or is the threat coming from within?
Stranded in the middle of the woods with no cell service, the campers quickly realize it's up to them to save themselves. Things are escalating. Everyone's on edge. Will anyone get out alive? Or will camp be closed for good?

A list of traits found in Trans Panic!: Summer camp murder mystery, Autistic, trans, queer and disabled characters, Uncoventional blood and found families, inversions of transphobic tropes, T4T romance (including butch and femme), Unreliable narrator(s), Hadestown references, Breaking cycles of abuse and cruelty, Maps, newspaper clippings and other glimpses into the world, trans final girl(s) drawing blood

Also, while I'm not a big fan of the wording in this Polygon article, I think bringing up how spinoffs have made Yosuke a bit kinder without completely butchering his character comforts me a bit. Like, I don't care if they remove the tent scene! I *do* care if they make large character changes.

If Nintendo, a company making games primarily aimed at families can do queer rep, you can too, Atlus. Grow a pair and stop taking the easy way out.

Honestly, being alive has been *rough* for me lately, so I wanted to share some quotes that have helped me keep on living over the years.

Yosuke Hanamura in Persona 4 Golden stating: "Just being born, living your life...Before you know it, you're already special to someone."

A quote from the character Merle of the podcast The Adventure Zone: Balance : "What brings me joy is... life. I think you can find joy anywhere in life, I think it’s a conscious choice. I think you choose joy in life. And no matter how bad things are, no matter how crummy, no matter how dark, no matter how many times some guy named John kills your ass- you find joy. I’ve found joy, honest to God, getting to know you. I’ve found joy playing chess with you. I have enjoyed-I haven’t enjoyed you know, getting my ass killed, but I find joy in whatever I do. I don’t always do things right, and I don’t always do things smart, and I don’t always do a character voice, but whatever I do, I find joy in it.

Because at the end of the day, that’s all you got. It’s looking back on the joy you had, and the joy you found, and the joy you gave other people."

Capitalism does not care if your games do something new and wonderful with art, story, or gameplay. Capitalism does not care about stories of underrepresented groups. Capitalism doesn't even care about how much money, sales or awards something has as long as it can make more getting rid of it.

Affordable print prices and digital titles actually being quite a bit cheaper than their physical counterparts...Manga Mavericks is excelling at being an easily accessible indie publisher!

A store page for the manga Ball & Chain, an omnibus priced at $20.

A store page for First Time in Taiwan: A Delicious Adventure (Digital), priced at $3.99, about half its physical edition is priced.
