People are benefitting from faster scans and a more comfortable experience, now that upgrades to the MRI at Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre are complete. The upgraded MRI uses AI technology, improved imaging equipment and advanced software for sharper, more detailed images.

Planning is underway to improve and expand Burnaby Hospital’s emergency department and surgical unit. The improvements will include additional emergency treatment spaces, upgraded operating rooms and expanded areas for patients preparing for and recovering from surgery.

A new specialized operating room is coming to Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre. Called a “hybrid” operating room, it combines a surgical suite with advanced medical imaging tech and will help shorten recovery times and hospital stays for people in the Fraser Valley.
