🍇 RESEARCH 🍇 "Our study reveals distinct physiological and metabolic phases of grapevine bud dormancy, identifying sugar-phosphate dynamics and Tre6P accumulation as putative key signals linking metabolic reactivation to bud burst" – Signorelli et al. 🔗 doi.org/10.1093/jxb/... #PlantScience 🧪
Fig. 2.Apoplastic isolation of buds throughout the season. (A) Moisture content. Bars indicate the mean of five biological replicates consisting of two buds each, error bars represent the SD, and different letters show statistical differences based on one-way ANOVA with Tukey’s post-hoc HSD testing at P<0.05, n.d., not determined; (B) Apoplastic connectivity, as visualized by the acrotonic passage of two apoplastic dyes—Acid fuchsin (upper row) and Eosin Y (lower row).

Discover our little story showing that carbon availability promotes gemma cup formation via cytokinins and independently of KAI2-dependent signalling in liverwort. This shows how important the interactions between sugars and CK are for plant development.

Carbon availability acts via cytokinins to promote gemma cup formation in Marchantia polymorpha
Liverworts can clonally propagate by producing compact shoot structures called gemmae, which develop within basket-like structures known as gemma cups. It was previously reported in Marchantia nepalen...

Really proud to share this review with my new team. We started off making an excel file with all the NPF substrates for ourselves and decided to turn ot into something useful for the community. It contains some methods and an evolutionary perspective.

The plasticity of physiology and development in response to the environment is amazing and not always mediated by the same pathways in response to a same stimulus.
