I saw a tweet state sincerely that if we like pets more than people, it's only because they can't talk back or stop us from doing what we want to do. Therefore, it's a vulnerability & lack of agency we prefer. And lol lmao. Buddy, I have a husky.

I’m starting to dabble with Rust, Burn in particular. I feel like Rust might be ideal for deep learning because I don’t know how many times I’ve accidentally mutated a list/dict/tensor in Python. Am I thinking right or is it the case that the “grass is greener on the other (Rust) side”?

Miss Deluxe Paint? Steffest has reimpleented it in Javascript, for easy pixel art animation, used by id Software and LucasArts alike. Come on back and draw like it's 1989!

The gorgeous VGA artwork from MicroProse's Darklands. Released for DOS PCs in 1992. Part RPG and part simulation, this sandbox adventure game drops you into the Holy Roman Empire of a (slightly) alternate 15th Century. It's also the game I'm tapping out a new Adventure Log about right now.
Looking down the main streets of Mymwegen, you set off toward...

A pixel artwork rendition of a town street, all Tudor style buildings and cobbled streets done in a sepia style."Eyes and Ears open, you..."

Another little cinematic of someone looking at parchment notices pinned to a board.Ack! The night watch catches you out after dark when a curfew is declared. The artwork shows a platemail-clad watchman raising a lantern and offering his hand while a stout-looking fellow in a bucket helmet stands somewhat more menacingly with a large sword.A cool pixel illustration, almost done in a watercolour style, of warriors fighting in a bandit encounter.

Man, 80s computer books made even non-relational databases look fun. (Source.)
The cover to the book, "Writing Your Own Program: Creating A Database: Adventure Game." Each line is in its own font. The computer (a black affair with rainbow keys" depicts a scuba diver swimming, handcuffs in hand, as it is attacked by a giant cross octopus; the painted octopus is literally bursting out of the monitor. A tiny little banner in the corner states: "For Commodore 64 And Apple IIe Computers"

In the final battle of Yar's Revenge, the game's code scrolls by on screen! Retro Game Mechanics does their best to see if they can extract the whole game - just based on what the game, itself, shows you.
