Is it my imagination, or are black T-shirts, usually with bold messaging, now de rigueur clothing, for men and women?

You have to answer a lot of questions when you order a cup of coffee these days.

Much gratitude to Mary and Katie Lincoln for agreeing to purchase and display my new book, SMALL VICTORIES in their beautiful shop. Means so much to see it for sale in Ardmore, my native village and favourite place.

Delighted to be doing a reading from my recent collection ’Small Victories’ in the Old Market House Arts Centre in Dungarvan on March 1st. So lucky to have the wonderful Lani O Hanlon to moderate. All very welcome. 📕

A Peace-Lily in our kitchen, hope it works its spell this year, on all the suffering and the troubled, everywhere.

Does @news.rte.ie really need to pay a guy to tell us ‘footfall was down in Kilkenny city’ because it was snowing?! A sense of proportion, please.

In no world, in no circumstances should this be excusable. #IrishTimes #Gaza

When did ‘What’s your name?’ become ‘What’s your own name?’

You know when you have all those books lined up you want to read, and friends keep recommending other books you ‘have to read.’

Looking forward to this very much. My first time reading in Carrick-on-Suir. Thanks to Margaret O Brien for organising it.

Wonder if the RTE sports reporter would have said the match ‘ended in tears’ if it was the men’s football team who missed out on qualification last night. @news.rte.ie

When I hear Sinn Fein advocating stopping the supply of weapons to Ukraine, I think of Chamberlain’s appeasement of Hitler, and its consequences.

The American phrase ‘I got this’ has landed and is now part of how we speak in Ireland. I don’t know why this annoys me.

Standing on a deserted street in Waterford with about ten others waiting for the green pedestrian light, I realise sadly, that the great Irish tradition of jaywalking is disappearing.

On this day 61 years ago, my tearful mother came into my room. ‘Kneel down and say a prayer for President Kennedy, he died this afternoon.’ I can see her still.
