How many Canadians are living with #DownSyndrome? Until recently, we worked with the rough and outdated estimate of 45,000. Now, a new population study released by Dr. Brian Skotko and his colleagues has applied a new methodology to give us more accurate data. cdss.ca/advocacy/ #DisabilityAdvocacy
A young woman with Down syndrome in a red sweater mixes a salad for dinner while her friend, a middle aged man with Down syndrome, smiles and watches her. Text reads: DOWN SYNDROME IN CANADA. 22,367 Canadians Living with Down Syndrome. 431 Babies born with Down syndrome annually. 59 Years Average life expectancy.

In 25 years of covering national security, I’ve never seen a story like this: Senior Trump officials discussed planning for the U.S. attack on Yemen in a Signal group--and inadvertently added the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic. www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc...

The Trump Administration Accidentally Texted Me Its War Plans
U.S. national-security leaders included me in a group chat about upcoming military strikes in Yemen. I didn’t think it could be real. Then the bombs started falling.

What a fantastic start to Day 2 of @dseinternational.bsky.social 2025 Research Forum! Huge thanks to Professor Monica Cuskelly for a fantastic talk, urging us to consider wider family dynamics and sibling relationships in families with children with Down syndrome!

Fascinating insights into how we can collect more real-life, naturalistic observations and utilise machine learning for analysis to better inform research to improve the lives of young children with #DownSyndrome from @cardiffbabylab.bsky.social at 2025 Research Forum @dseinternational.bsky.social
