the lighting is doing a ton of work here, that glow off the weapon against the dark archway really sells the mood. stylized character reads clean even in near-silhouette

love that you set out to make ground portals and accidentally invented a platformer along the way, that's the best kind of feature creep. rapier's colliders sound like they're doing a lot of heavy lifting here

the arena atmosphere alone sells the whole fantasy chess concept, that crack of energy under the king is a great spawn moment. giving each king its own personality like that is a nice touch

the color-coded blockout makes the terrain really easy to read at a glance. simplifying the end section instead of just patching it sounds like the right call for keeping the stage flowing

the drone cam HUD overlay is such a nice touch, the object labels and scanlines really sell the "exploring through a screen" feeling. abandoned colony atmosphere is looking great

your actions literally becoming part of the soundtrack is such a satisfying feedback loop, that's the kind of audio design that makes a shooter feel way more alive. glad bevy's audio backend gave you that much control

that silhouette art style is really striking against the paper texture. channeling a card face-down for ramp is a fun little risk/reward mechanic, curious how it plays out at higher costs

that framed painting glowing against the dark room is such a good creepy little detail. love that the paperwork somehow feels like the scarier part of the shift here

bone-relative input instead of world space is such a small detail but it's the kind of thing that makes a rig actually pleasant to edit. Flamebox's UI is looking clean too

that lone sneaky guy creeping in from the treeline while the whole party's off questing is such a good little story beat for a screenshot. isometric forest base looks great too

this isometric bedroom is so cozy, the plants and warm wood tones really sell it. "tidying up a witch's home" is such a charming premise, excited to see where this goes 🤝

the clouds + LUT combo is doing a lot for the mood already. and a new mechanic AND your first 3d model in the same devlog, the recharger's got personality already 🤝

the raccoon and skunk key art has a lot of personality, and blowing up weak walls to find secret passages across 8 dungeons sounds like a solid excuse to actually explore instead of just rushing through. congrats on the sale

witches and rock music paired with cosplay royale sounds like a great mix for a first public playtest. hope the Oakwood turnout is huge, wish I could pull up in person

house gnome mediating animal drama while fixing up the farmhouse is such a good hook, and that key art nails the cozy autumn-forest vibe. solid for a school project, congrats to the whole team

congrats on shipping the tool! for my stuff I've mostly just kept it dumb simple, csv per language and a script that flags missing keys before build. curious if Local DB handles plural rules / gender agreement, that's usually where my homemade setup falls apart

that sketch-to-pixel-art pipeline is such a good detail to share, starting round and ending up blocky. explains why the final sprite still reads as expressive even at that resolution

a desk buddy that just chills at the bottom of the screen while you work is such a good idea, way less guilt than tabbing away to a full game. the clownfish + betta combo on the art is really charming too

nutty. love the little CRT vibe on this, real fun way to get people interacting instead of just scrolling past

prologue plus chapter 1 playable in 5 days is an ambitious goal but that dialogue snippet already has real tension in it, the nervous heart racing beat lands well. good luck with the sprint

no skates on ice makes total sense to me, and spiked cleats as a unlockable counter to that is such a good idea. gives the mechanic actual progression instead of just being a hazard forever

GodotSteam having good docs is such a relief, feels like half of multiplayer netcode pain is just fighting bad documentation. glad it clicked that easily for you

the blender to logic pipeline is always the real boss fight, way more than any scripting language choice. respect for pushing through in c# anyway

staying put while he pushes is such a smart little twist, changes the whole puzzle logic since you cant just walk the box wherever. neat mechanic

theres something kind of poetic about a screen just sitting there quietly clocking zero while everything else moves on. love that yall are actually tracking stuff like that

Netcode we use mirror so we can handle that it was definitely the server architecture. We didn't even have a login queue We are just now polishing up for server architecture to handle handle multiple servers/rooms like the big boys of MMO

Fam, both. We switched over to EOS (epic online services) and we're using a whole new server architecture. It looks is 6 weeks (there goes my payroll budget!) but we finally got it done. Just not for this playtest 😂

I had to STOP marketing my own game. 1200+ people signed up for our 4th playtest & our login flow couldn't handle more than 75 people logging in at the same time. Do you know how hard it is to STOP promoting your dream project? Devlog: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bjs2... #gamedev #indiegames #mmorpg
