François Fleuret @francois.fleuret.org · 19/12/2024Oh boy, GTA 6 has to be good. And Half Life 3. 260

François Fleuret @francois.fleuret.org · 14/12/2024My political weight is obviously immense since there is coffee available all the time at @neuripsconf.bsky.social this year. For next year: can we have at e.g. 10 places in the center some huge colorful discs with numbers 1...10 in them to serve as convenient meeting points? 3291
François Fleuret @francois.fleuret.org · 12/12/2024The topologists seem to be taking over. Large pictures + a README about this experiment at fleuret.org/public/culture 1100
François Fleuret @francois.fleuret.org · 09/12/2024It's Monday! On my way to @neuripsconf.bsky.social ! 1481
François Fleuret @francois.fleuret.org · 08/12/2024BTW there was a bug, my version should be (with slight var name changes) 200
François Fleuret @francois.fleuret.org · 06/12/2024The 4b clearly gets below the 8b after ~300M tokens and never comes back. 010
François Fleuret @francois.fleuret.org · 05/12/2024Just grow light blue vertically, but be careful with the occlusions (how do they decide for the ambiguity? No idea...) 100
François Fleuret @francois.fleuret.org · 05/12/2024Easy: light blue shrinks vertically, moves left and turns brown. 100
François Fleuret @francois.fleuret.org · 05/12/2024Those four yellow corners. Is that just a coincidence, or something to come? 200
François Fleuret @francois.fleuret.org · 05/12/2024Easy one. Gray turns green and hollow, pink becomes brown, and of course you switch red and blue. Who would fail that one? 110
François Fleuret @francois.fleuret.org · 05/12/2024This I love, but I do not understand why/how "they" prefer the fusion of the two rectangles instead of keeping a separate-rectangle model of the world. 200
François Fleuret @francois.fleuret.org · 04/12/2024Those are samples of the hand designed ones, there four types, two rows of each: "change color", "frame", "shrink/expand", "translate". 000
François Fleuret @francois.fleuret.org · 04/12/2024Solving one quiz means that the model can predict *any of the four* given the three others. Which can be subtle in the ones they create. 100
François Fleuret @francois.fleuret.org · 04/12/2024Ah, Whova, my old, clunky, annoying, I-wish-I-was LinkedIn friend. I can't hate you because when I reinstall you, it means I gonna have one week of full-time nerdiness. 0130
François Fleuret @francois.fleuret.org · 02/12/2024Most recent version: I keep a generated quiz only if 3+ models solve it, 2+ fail badly, and (this is new) there is no agreement of 2+ models on a different solution. This rejects quizzes inherently ambiguous for instance because of occlusion. The ones attached are not ambiguous. 080
François Fleuret @francois.fleuret.org · 01/12/2024And they generalized "translate" to complicated shapes. I do not get how 6 out of 12 models could agree on the spurious pixel in the corner though. 110
François Fleuret @francois.fleuret.org · 01/12/2024They combined "translate" with "shrink" that became "shrink in one direction". 110
François Fleuret @francois.fleuret.org · 01/12/2024They combined "frame" with "change color" that became "flip color"... 1161
François Fleuret @francois.fleuret.org · 30/11/2024I then re-train models from scratch on a training set composed for half of those "culture quizzes". And I repeat this sequence. Here are some of the stuff they invented. 4/4 120
François Fleuret @francois.fleuret.org · 30/11/2024So, refresher about my culture stuff. Here are examples of the four types of hand-designed "quizzes" I created. "Solving" it means to predict any of the four grids given the three others. 1/4 4383
François Fleuret @francois.fleuret.org · 30/11/2024TIL about multi-file tail -f, and looking at the man page I also learned about -F. 1160
François Fleuret @francois.fleuret.org · 29/11/2024I have my own handle-domain, that's so nerdy. 3540
