Veshume wrote this Otherkin News article about an incident in the therian moral panic in Portugal: there are apparently unproven rumors that someone tried to take a therian to a vet, and vets responded to the rumor. Thanks for writing, Veshume! otherkinnews.tumblr.com/post/8197948...

If you put a link in your bio to a carrd that tells where we can chip in, I'll see how I can help out.

A new thesis? Wonderful! Would you please send that to me?

Any news about this yet? They didn't answer my email either.

This satirical article was in the April 1973 issue of The Lesbian Tide, pointing out some common mistakes that aren't unique to a particular group or even the internet era. Transcript & source: www.tumblr.com/frameacloud/...

That's what I was guessing must have happened. Bsky is the only site I've used where blocking or being blocked by an account doesn't cause an unfollow.

010

Orion Scribner 🔜 HOWLCON @frameacloud.bsky.social · 31/05/2026

I'm returning to use RSS, so I no longer use Bsky to follow any accounts. Since this is a functioning website, it says that I'm still following four accounts, but when prompted to list those accounts, it says that I'm not following any.

Orion Scribner 🔜 HOWLCON @frameacloud.bsky.social · 27/05/2026

I'm in the process of unfollowing everything & ceasing to use this account to follow any other accounts. Friends & colleagues who want to ask me something, or tell me about something that made you think of me, you're welcome to email me; please see link in bio.

If there’s something on Bsky or any other social media site that you want me to see, instead assuming I might see your post or your reblog about it, please email it to me at the link in my bio.

Months ago I set up Bsky “lists” to see updates from certain Bsky accounts. Today I saw that the lists incorrectly show some of those accounts as though they haven’t made original posts in weeks even though they’ve been posting all along.

What! Wow, the colors and lighting of your balcony look so cute that at first I mistook the thumbnail image for a screenshot from a video game. Fantastic job creating such a beautiful space in real life!

The symbols ΘΔ are the unicode equivalent of a symbol created in 2004 to represent therianthropes, in other words, animal people. bsky.app/profile/jakk...

Orion Scribner 🔜 HOWLCON @frameacloud.bsky.social · 31/03/2026

The symbols just mean therianthrope, an animal person, and that’s all they mean. It doesn’t have anything to do with whether someone is trustworthy or not.

Orion Scribner 🔜 HOWLCON @frameacloud.bsky.social · 31/03/2026

Yeah, that article needs to be done over from scratch, no idea why those parts were in it either, odd. Would you be up for a collab with the DC discord gang this afternoon/weekend? That’s worked well in the past.

You’re looking so good! Are you going to do your stickers as though they’re clothes/accessories that you can swap out the way that other models do outfits?

1/9 Wow, since the Theta-Delta is doing numbers, I guess I should tell as much of the story as I can. Again, keep in mind that I’m recounting something that happened in a web forum 20 years ago, so I’m undoubtedly missing a few details. (thread)

Fun fact: I was one of the folks who helped develop the Theta-Delta symbol about 20 years ago. It was a lively discussion in the WereList forums (some didn't like the idea of a symbol at all). I sketched out the results as the discussion progressed, & put together what became the final version. #ΘΔ

Aside from that, I have mixed feelings about Greene’s “Magic of Shapeshifting.” I‘ve been writing a marginalia on it for years (to track down uncited sources & research/challenge her claims) but have yet to get it to a finished stage because there’s just so much going on with that book.

Orion Scribner 🔜 HOWLCON @frameacloud.bsky.social · 24/03/2026

I haven’t confirmed the rumors that it has word-for-word plagiarism, but I did find close paraphrases of many writings unmistakably from AHWW therians who weren’t credited. I’m surprised to see that therians today have forgotten how angry our community was about its publication.

Orion Scribner 🔜 HOWLCON @frameacloud.bsky.social · 24/03/2026

An interesting book, but you have it the wrong way round. Regulars on 1990s/2000s AHWW & therian sites said it’s all ripped off from them, plus some stuff she got from unclear origins. I’m inclined to agree: she talks about things from AHWW but credits no therians by name, cites no therian websites.
