Not everyone, but the Prince used his influence to convince them she was bad for doing their jobs better than them… also because she wasn’t as pretty or outgoing as her sister… A lot of the reason for the prince and his allies wanting her gone is just sexism.

I’ve seen some before. And I agree that certain depictions are. But a depiction that’s barely a depiction, just a line… Or the generic video game mob thing. They’re just slimes with a humanoid shape and green skin. Nothing deeper than that due to how far removed they are from their origins.

That’s an assumption that you are following because confirms your opinions. Orcs are often used in isekai (and some fantasy series) as stand ins for wild boars. Goblins are usually there for no reason other than being a trope and a generic, recognizable video game mob.

The nobility had an artifact that sealed the demon lord. Prince sought to use this artifact (releasing the demon lord) so he wouldn’t be worse at something than a woman. Parnacorta is also portrayed as doing completely fine due to its people’s self sufficiency.

Because it never even showed them, it could even be a wolves and wild boars sort of thing. Fantasy worlds add a lot more nuance because things like magic, ontological evil, and non-sapient humanoids can actually exist. What matters is what it’s used (in that series) to represent.

The story seems to be going for a revenge is cruel and messy angle if you read the subtext. There are scenes which seem to imply the mc and others see her actions as wrong. She practically admits as much in the scene where she melted Robert’s soldiers. That doesn’t seem very zionist to me.

That’s actually a poorly written premise of Too Perfect Saint. Society is falling apart in that one due to an inept sexist prince and his influence. Specifically when it comes to listening to people who know things… like women. Also an out of view until the end demon lord’s resurgence.

She’s motivated by betrayal, pretty explicitly from what I remember. As far as the goblin and orc comment goes, they haven’t even been shown on screen so jumping to race is wild. Fantasy frequently depicts both in wildly different lights, here it seems goblins are more Goblin Slayer than DnD.

I’ve been watching A Livid Lady’s Guide to Getting Even recently and episode really confirmed how evil Elizabeth is. (And how well set up this series is). It’s nice coming across a revenge story that doesn’t romanticize revenge where it is messy, cruel and consumes the seeker.

Re-reading the fourth volume of The Execution and Her Way of Life made me realize how much better it is when you know the twist. The sheer amount of dread this causes the entire time is phenomenal. I used to think it was the worst volume… it’s safe to say that’s no longer the case.

I have yet to see what it’s often criticized for and I believe that’s the result of having actually read the various documents and paced the story with side quests and exploration. Maybe I’m wrong and their standards are just too high or something though.

There is a lot The Executioner and Her Way of Life does that couldn’t really be done or done as well if it was just another dark fantasy. It needs to be an isekai to work. Removing the isekai would require changing so much it just wouldn’t be the same.
