Issa Diop, my third bench player, got the same #FPL score this week as Bruno F and Mbuemo combined. 🤣 By the end of this international break Mbuemo will be gone, and Bruno is on my ditch list. Too much money tied up in him to be blanking regularly.

I look at Spurs’ squad and think it mainly picks itself. Yes there’s been some injuries and players coming back gradually, but fundamentally a 4-2-3-1 with the following seems the most obvious starting XI: Kinsky Porro, VDV, JPVH, Robbo Fernandes, Tonali Kudus, Maddison, Marmoush Solanke

If Sangare (BRE) at least hits DEFCON today he probably becomes essential given his price, returns so far, and potential for attacking returns. There’s a question of what others in similar price range do, but that level of consistency could make him set and forget with the others being more streaky

I’ve done an initial FPL draft, but it’s purely a bus team focused on players who will definitely be available in GW1 as things stand. Whilst I’ll be keeping an eye on the transfers and when World Cup players are likely to be back up to speed, I’m not going to change my draft for a while.

Bizarre from Deschamps tonight. Digne should have come off earlier, Dembele has been poor but stayed on. No attacking midfield link to transition the ball from defence to the forwards. Wingers not driving at the fullbacks. Finally started doing that too late, Cherki has improved them significantly.

I can’t fathom why you would buy a moments player like Eze, who had already been desperately unlucky not to score shortly beforehand, and sub him off when you need a goal. If you don’t start him and then bring him on to change the game it makes sense, but taking him off in that game state doesn’t.

#FPL GW23 selection: Tough decisions this week. Playing good attackers with tough fixtures over good defenders with great fixtures. Boils down to attacking players being more exciting to be honest. Strong bench though so can handle rotation as long as they don’t come on as subs! Good luck all.

Glasner is due to discuss his future with Palace this week, so he’ll be leaving in the summer if the Utd job doesn’t come up this week. Palace need to get a good rest, get Sarr back from AFCON, and focus on the Conference League. Congrats to Macclesfield. Those plastic pitches are awful.
