I think the long term punishment kills the club. You get rid of the people who were in charge, you make a clear example of the consequences, but you give the club a way back. You want it to be a good opportunity for a buyer.

I'm not a City fan or a hater, just cynical of the moral outrage. I'd strip them of their titles (not award them to anyone), force a change of ownership, make them reduce their salary spend by $x over the next 2 windows but then allow a rebuild, award them no points this season but not relegate them

My comment is somewhat tongue in cheek. I do take the fraud very seriously and support severe punishment. But I roll my eyes a bit at the 'unfair advantage' narrative. When some teams are allowed to spend more under the rules, it's an inherently unfair system. Why are we pretending otherwise?

I didn't mean retroactively, I mean over the next few seasons. Someone wins with 85 points while City has 75 points after a 20 point deduction for example.

Please help me out so my faux outrage is on point. What are we upset about? A club overspent on players in a league awash with shieks, billionaires and questionable characters? Breaking rules that are designed to protect the smaller clubs from bankruptcy with a hollow nod to an even playing field?

You know who has the resources to throw endless money at a project? It's not private companies in the west, it's the CCP. They threw endless subsidies at the motor industry until they gained global dominance. They're currently building 35+ nuclear reactors while we squabble over politics.
