Fucking hell... I tried a poetry course and depressed myself.

A woman sits in a living room

Morning sun creeps over a table, the light catches on lenses that will never again perch upon a nose.

She steps into the hallway

Afternoon reds climb a coatrack, warm glow settles on a cold coat that won't be filled

Her house is packed with reminders of emptiness

Moonlight bathes a vacant space in a double bed, a hand feels for phantom warmth

Nothing there to feel... It feels like nothing matters

Sometimes I feel like I've lived in two very different worlds. I saw the 80s from a child's perspective, grew through the 90s into young adulthood, then faced the cold reality of adulthood in the new millennium I witnessed our world become more connected while people became disconnected.
