Oh I know... I just honestly feel like I'm not connecting with people these days. Like there's something wrong with me and I just don't find people who share similar ways of thinking.

I try and debate but its always just an argument with neither side changing their mind. So what's the point? Why bother discussing things at all?

But when I express an opinion on anything, people say I care too much or call me an idiot for having an opinion on these things. When I generally only want whats best to respect everyone's wishes. But I just feel like my thoughts are generally unwanted. But I don't want to feel isolated and mute.

I can't help but feel disconnected from humanity lately. Feels like most people just don't really seem to care about stuff, and how things affect other people. I get passionate talking about topics, particularly about gaming. I have spend most of my life gaming, so yes I am invested in my hobby.

Lu Bu unlocked! Had to defeat 1000 enemies in Hu Lao Gate to get him, that was some work!

Just beat Dynasty Warriors 2 with Guan Yu, my first time clearing Normal difficulty and it was so hard to achieve! Got another 22 characters to clear yet - lots of stat grinding required 😬

Started replaying the PS2 Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers game this weekend, I've been wanting to play some Middle-Earth based games. It still holds up fairly well, but I feel like the Return of the King game was more impressive, from what I remember.

I've owned Shadow of the Tomb Raider and the Remastered collections of Tomb Raider 1-6 for a little while, so I've kept meaning to pick the series back up again to play through them. I grew up with Tomb Raider and its been too long.

Today, I've started playing Rise of the Tomb Raider. I played it years ago on Xbox One, and remember not really loving it. This time I'm playing the 20th Anniversary edition on PS4 which includes all the DLCs. I'm enjoying it so far, so I hope my positivity stays.

Finished Dante's Inferno a couple of days ago, highly enjoyable game and glad I got round to it at last. Yesterday I played the remaster of Onimusha: Warlords, still a great game! Shame the Platinum looks like its going to take a fair few runs. Managed to get the Onimusha 2 remaster on sale, though

Nearing the end of Dante's Inferno. I'm really glad I picked this game up so many years later than I originally dropped it. Reminds me of how much I enjoyed the PS3 era of hack and slash games - God of War, Darksiders, Castlevania Lords of Shadow. Very crunchy and satisfying.

James 🎮 FFX-2 / Dynasty Warriors 2 @foxgodleon.bsky.social · 16/04/2026

Not going to lie, life has been really difficult recently. But I still try and keep on top of my gaming. Been working my way through fighting games recently, covering a ton of series and playing them by release order - Street Fighter, SNK Fighters, Tekken, Mortal Kombat, and more. Soul Blade next.

Haven't posted in a while yet again! After playing through the whole Legacy of Kain series, I decided to finally get round to giving Dante's Inferno another shot. Not sure why I didn't finish it first time around (that was in 2010!) because so far its really satisfying.

Been playing Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater this week, and I love it so much. It feels like the same game I played when I was younger but so lovingly updated. Just stopped playing after beating The Fear and I can't wait for my next session. MGS will always be one of my favourite series.

Listening to the K-Pop Demon Hunters OST while out and about this morning, and its genuinely an awesome soundtrack that stands on its own two feet independent of the movie. Hits right in so many ways.

Been ill in bed today and couldn't sleep, so I watched K-Pop Demon Hunters. Loved it, its a blend of some of my favourite things - demons, singing idols, nicely animated combat scenes. Will definitely watch again and I'm looking forward to the sequel!

I'm really close to the end now, but in a position where I don't feel strong enough for the final boss, but there's also no fun way I can find to level up. The bosses are a lot of fun, but grinding regular battles feels like a chore when it's purely for levelling.

James 🎮 FFX-2 / Dynasty Warriors 2 @foxgodleon.bsky.social · 23/07/2025

Been playing Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and its definitely been a mixed experience for me. Love the combat and the ability system, and the plot is gripping when it's moving. But as soon as I'm not actively pushing forwards with the plot, I don't really feel invested in the world beyond the party.

I hope it gets announced soon! Square Enix keep doing loads of FFIX related stuff lately but nothing about the game itself 😅

@foxgodleon.bsky.social just convinced me to give FFIX a try when the remake comes out. I’m a little wary given I’m bad at judging which FF game suits me, so we’ll see 🙂

Our little club’s monthly game for June is King’s Bounty II. Both me and @foxgodleon.bsky.social have been meaning to play this and finally we’re getting around to it 😂

As its the end of May, the vote is currently open for deciding which game we'll be playing in June, and we are looking for more members to join in - if you're interested, please get involved! Hoping to have a cozy gaming club we can enjoy in the months to come.

Got a Discord based gaming club running at the moment, focused on building a community of gamers playing mostly solo video games. Each month we vote for a game to play as a community, which is always available at the time for under £10, making use of sales. discord.gg/PyA9PMuW

What's a shame about it is that the plot that's there is great and feels like an important epilogue to the main story. But it takes soooo long to grind through all the repetitive stages with barely anything happening to see the plot. Last thing P3 needed was more of Tartarus 😅

Finished Persona 3 Reload's Episode Aigis last night. I never beat The Answer on PS2 as I didn't like how hyper focused it was on combat. It's still the same in Reload, but at least the combat is a bit better in the remake. But The Answer is still a needlessly long slog 👎

My new Discord group is off to a surprisingly great start! Only created it two days ago and already hit 30 members 😱 We're currently voting on which single player PS4/5 game to pick up in the sale and play together, I'm excited to see how it goes. For anyone interested: discord.gg/7RaR8V78

When I have a huge backlog that already needs working on, and there are games like Clair Obscure selling closer to £40, its hard to justify spending that much on one game. I don't have a ton of spending money as it is.

120

James 🎮 FFX-2 / Dynasty Warriors 2 @foxgodleon.bsky.social · 01/05/2025

Yeahh, we've had games here recently selling at £65-£70 which is over $85. I love my games but at those prices I can't just pay for those without some serious hype. Still unsure if I'm getting Doom: The Dark Ages on release (probably not 😑)

James 🎮 FFX-2 / Dynasty Warriors 2 @foxgodleon.bsky.social · 29/04/2025

My brain wants to call the group "The Introverted Castle" as a play on words from Castlevania, but I don't want to alienate any non-introverts 🤣

120

James 🎮 FFX-2 / Dynasty Warriors 2 @foxgodleon.bsky.social · 27/04/2025

Yeah, I love BlueSky as well but I know a lot of less tech savvy people don't have accounts. Discord is something I might consider too as it seems ideal for this, but I wasn't sure if it would be intimidating for some people. I'll keep you posted as soon as I have more info! Thanks for replying :)

110

James 🎮 FFX-2 / Dynasty Warriors 2 @foxgodleon.bsky.social · 27/04/2025

Sure! What social media platforms do you use? Still working out which one I'll use to organise it - looking mostly at Facebook or Instagram, I think. As far as I'm aware both have decent options for this kind of thing.

100

James 🎮 FFX-2 / Dynasty Warriors 2 @foxgodleon.bsky.social · 27/04/2025

Obviously if I managed to get a small group together, I'd talk with the members to work out specifics to suit everyone as best as possible - whether the majority prefer longer or shorter games, how often we choose a new game, budget limits etc.

110

James 🎮 FFX-2 / Dynasty Warriors 2 @foxgodleon.bsky.social · 27/04/2025

I'd probably avoid particularly lengthy games, and being an online group it would be more focused on regular group chat t rather than specifically arranged weekly meetings. So people can just drop in around their own schedules. Very low pressure.

110

James 🎮 FFX-2 / Dynasty Warriors 2 @foxgodleon.bsky.social · 27/04/2025

As I say, its very much focused around the social aspect. I'd probably focus on Playstation. Lots of games available for under £10 all the time, and I'd put time into finding a game for each month with votes on what game(s) to choose. I'm not a PS+ subscriber and don't personally plan to become one

110

James 🎮 FFX-2 / Dynasty Warriors 2 @foxgodleon.bsky.social · 27/04/2025

Yeah, I mean that would help - but I'm also thinking to maybe go a similar route of what some online book groups do - having people pick up the games if they don't own them. Could have the group keeping an eye out for interesting games that are on high discount for say around £5-£10 each month.
