Happy Moon Day Monday! #LunarLandingDay Here's a few photos from our visit to NASA Space Center last month! (I am still giddy about having gotten to touch a piece of the moon)

For anorthosite it says, "This sample is an igneous rock called anorthosite. It formed by the slow cooling of molten lava, that covered the moon to form the lunar surface. Its black glassy coating, probably splashed onto the rock, much later by a nearby meteorite impact. Composition: Plagioclase, small amounts of olivine and pyroxene."
For breccia it says, "This sample was taken from a boulder on a geologically diverse area surrounded by mountains on an ancient lava flow at the edge of Mare Serenitatis )Sea of Serenity). The boulder seems to have rolled down a nearby hill. Composition: glass fragments, minerals, and rock in glassy matrix."

Not sure how Mr. Bunnylops managed to summon the Lords in Black, but apparently it worked. Won a raffle on @raemyshu.bsky.social's art stream yesterday, and this was the 30 minute sketch I requested. I did the coloring and shading. The Lords in Black are entities created by #TeamStarkid

Happy Pride, Sally Ride! First (known) queer person in space! 🏳️‍🌈👩‍🚀 Got to visit the NASA Space Center yesterday. We saw some incredible stuff. (Though not all the pictures turned out since a lot of it was rather dimly lit) I can also now say I’ve touched a piece of the Moon.

#Starkid announced a few future projects today, including a musical called "Fancyland". I should have known they'd find a way to grab ahold of my interest on this one too.

Starkid: "We're making a musical that's very different from our others. Its much more serious, more of a focus on the drama and tragedy"

Me: "Hm... that's usually not much of my cup of tea, so I may not be into that one."

Starkid: "...and it's inspired by Walt & Roy Disney, and the start and rise of Disneyland. Also Matt Dahan plays a larger part in the composing of the music."

Me: "...GFDI, you got me."

Did @raemyshu.bsky.social and I stand in line for 2 hours, in both rain and shine, to see a very stinky flower? Yes. Yes we did. As an anosmic, I could not smell Elenore the corpse flower. But I'm told it smells like something died and you can't find it. Or spoiled meat in a broken fridge.

Celebrated Beltane a little early yesterday by going to the local botanical garden, because they were holding an event! There were local vendors and butterfly releases, and many beautiful flowers. (I did go home with locally made brownies and honey)

A few weeks ago, I won these two in a giveaway from Plushie Dreadfuls, and they arrived this week! The Depression Bunny (left) is named Rue, and the Chronic Pain Bunny (right) is Tetsu.

Another fun Mardi Gras! (Aside from a rather rude teenager) Followed the parade with a monte cristo sandwich that is definitely not on my “safe diet” list, but it’s a holiday and we were in Louisiana. So I had to. For morale. (Beads obtained in a family friendly event, no flashing required 😛)

THE SUMMONING Felt inspired to try drawing this, which honestly was a little intimidating at first. But it came together much faster than I expected. The details were time consuming, but it turned out to be a lot of fun! #Starkid #Hatchetfield

Upper left includes a pale mask with blue glow in the eye and mouth, peering from behind a swarm of unhappy little faces in blue slime. Finally went to visit the local botanical garden, knowing it was the last chance to see the scarecrows when it's not storming. Absolutely beautiful.

A long-tailed skipper butterfly on tiny pink and yellow flowers. Its wings are light brown with white spots, its body is light blue, and its hindwings have tails.

A curved walkway on the edge of a wild-looking lake. Moss hangs off of a large tree over the walkway. The sun beams down through the branches.

A plank walkway towards a large arch, covered in greenery. Tall wetland plants grow out of the water to either side of the walkway. Large plant pots sit on either side, just before the water. They are filled with a variety of plants, including the tall purple baron grass and orange and yellow magnolias.

The night before last, I had a dream in which Absol got an evolution. The evolution had dragon-typing and it gave off Haku (from Spirited Away) vibes. I spent most of yesterday attempting to draw something close to it. I think I more or less achieved what I was going for.

A long, Eastern-style dragon. It's main body is a dark blue-grey. The top of it and its belly are covered in fluffy white fur, as well as having two long, white whiskers. The end of its tail is shaped like a type of war-scythe. It's eyes are red and its claws are white.
