I know, this yarn is crazy beautiful! The minis I used were Hedgehog Fibres and I think most of the colorways are available at wool and company in the Chicago area. I order many of my exact minis from them. 😊 The DK yarns were all stash dyers still dye similar or same colors!

Continental knitting was a game changer for my ribbing! Finding a way to tension my yarn was the key to my success. Now I can knit both styles which also helps me with colorwork too. Will you try this? #knitsky #justknitting #knitting #knit #knittingtutorial

Continental has been an absolute game changer for me for ribbing. The switching back and forth is more smooth and my stitches are tensioned nicely. No specific pattern recs but I would start flat. In the round will be a breeze. I’ll post a video later of how I tension the yarn so I’ll tag you ☺️

I forced myself to learn continental purl because my English/flicking purls are sloppy. I was rowing out on a shawl with large sections of stockinette so my advice would be to just knit stockinette flat so you have to do stretches of purl and knits and then get into some ribbing.

It’s so funny, isn’t it? We have this ability to make these things, many of which can be complicated. Hold the yarn in a different band? Feels impossible! 😆 The muscle memory is so real. When I teach knitting I try to show both styles so new knitters don’t get locked in.

I completely understand! Even though I started with crochet and holding my yarn in the left hand, I could NOT knit continentally. Felt like a foreign language to me! 😆 I’ll do a purl video next and tag you!

That will do it!! Once I learned continental, I’d never do ribbing another way. My purls are so much better. I really agree with you to pick a project and commit if you want to learn!
