Started trying yarn tail making! Attempt #1, attempt #2, and the giant pile of wasted yarn. I feel like something's wrong with brushing it, so much goes to waste.

Also, life is a battlefield of foxes.

Highly recommend "Audition for the Fox" as a lover of foxes and anti-fascist media. The character of T'sidaan, the fox deity of tricks, is absolutely delightful. I'd date them if I couldn't be them.

SEPHIRIA is really cute!!! Really fun roguelite. Big recommend. Bunnies, but unlockable foxes, cats, wolves, and etc!

coming to the conclusion that i really like complimentary hue shifts. purple-blue accent on blue, orange on yellow. very gentle. the eyes can contrast and stand out, same with clothes.

Experimenting. Sorry, this is all I've got lately! I just. Want to try having a fursona again :) I'm thinking her patterning might stay consistent, but she might change colors on a whim.

Experimenting more every time I draw. Intent matters a lot. Considering looking into... art therapy? I think my biggest problem is not having a story I really want to tell, with art. I'll figure it out :)

fox gestures! ART TIP: you can actually do whatever you want when you do gestures. you don't have to focus on the pose. you can draw whichever part you have the most to learn from. sometimes i focus on the eyes, the expression, the head, the tail, whatever you want!

Trying to learn color theory. Banana shading is *not* green because bananas are *yellow.* Shadows on bananas will make the skin colder, but not make it a cold color. Hard shadows seem to be more saturated, and weak shadows... less saturated? I'm not done yet.

Using the hourly animal channels on Telegram to compile references of animals. I have over 1000 fox photos, of course, but now I've been collecting wolves, coyotes, otters, rabbits, tigers, snow leopards, and etc. Will hopefully have plenty to share someday.

TLDR; "Your job as an artist is to make something exist even if it's not good enough." I'm going to try to stop being a coward. I want to eat all of the grapes, even the sour ones, not just wait for the ripe ones while I starve 😔 Don't run.

CW: SOME thigh. I'm taking the train to a Seattle pride event and my GF gave me her big fluffy coat to wear off my shoulders. When it's low, it hides the tail completely. I feel like a kitsune hiding their true form ;/w/;

Book: FORCE, by Michael Mattesi. The book wants you to find rhythm by establishing relationships between curves in the body. I like the bit about the neck here.

It's occurring to me that animal heads might be similar to human skulls in that they narrow towards the bottom and widen towards the skull. Hence this top heavy square shape. Ears are cone-like, not triangles, and they follow the curve of the cheek fur.

Species ambassador program where you can get turned into a fox and live among foxes and teach them things like "okay see that? That's a car. You probably don't want to build your burrow here."
