Philepe prob learned by accidentally zapping something (nothing serious, just knocked stuff over, fumbled as he straightened everything best he could before anyone noticed) Pulse is racing, and he might be nervous at first (Andrastians been insisting mages are dangerous to everyone and themselves

Rey definitely thinks he's drunk or got drugged. He's a dwarf and knows this wouldn't just be a late bloomer thing. He's going to try to wait it out at first and then tentatively find some former mages for help--and then maybe other dwarves that haven't gone crazy yet and then go on a quest.

Before I could take all the paint back off of him (he does run with the lof, so prob does let himself get painted up every once in a while)

Sorin has already been in a weird in between spot--they're NOT a mage but have the shadowmancing ability which feels magelike. Now they have magic? They're thinking their demon-ness is growing until they notice everyone else being topsy-turvy. tbh they're just rolling with it until its gone

Fox's tattoos and rune scars are already imbued with lyrium and his own blood (so the runes are active/can be activated without magic) I imagine his first clue would be the runes suddenly behaving intensely or acting haywire. It's fascinating as hell, and he's investigating the crap out of this
