Great morning out on patch just before sunrise with many singing Skylarks. A pair of Ravens, a Red Kite over head and a single Wheatear to note. @lincsbirding.bsky.social #birding

To reduce disease, we all need to make some urgent but simple changes to how we feed our garden birds. See our website for the latest guidance: brnw.ch/21x1t4w

I had a good two and a half hours this morning with no sighting of the Shrike. It may well be having a lie in, though I’ve never not seen it once the sun is up. Photo from yesterday morning. @lincsbirding.bsky.social #ukbirding

Yes, it has got really bad since the farmland was sold. That particular patch used to be very good. SEO’s every winter and I’ve also had wintering Hen Harriers quite regularly roost there in winters gone. Now they cut 75 percent of the hedges and what was quality set aside every Aug/Sept Demolition

With my patch becoming bleaker and bleaker every year, to the point where the once abundant Kestrel is no longer even a weekly sighting. This little Whinchat was a joy to find and spend a little time with. #UKbirds Willingham Lane (Lincs).

Great to be out last night and hear my first Pink footed Geese of the Autumn. Made my night. Along with a faint showing of the Northern lights in mid Lincolnshire.

Only four years ago I would get Tree Sparrow’s all over my patch. Until this morning, my last sighting was April 2022. I miss them so much.

Yes. For me it’s gone from having to accept bleak, to feeling like it’s almost all over now. The last 3-4 years have been painful. This year is simply horrid. Amazes me how so many people comment to me about nature they have seen on tv, yet, are totally oblivious to how desperate reality is.

Photographer Hugh Harrop has just reported this Turnstone, on the same beach in Shetland as in 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023. The birds on a Shetland beach depend on habitat in Portugal, threatened by a new airport. #Conservation transcends borders. wadertales.wordpress.com/2019/12/23/t... #birds
