i think there should be a platform for all types of creators but like maybe we could use less content creators who churn out clipped together stream recordings or gaming monologues meant to be idly consumed on my second monitor and more creators that are capable of actually making me feel something

how much longer am i supposed to pretend video titles formatted to match the same clickbait cadence found in 100000 other video titles, complete with key words screaming out into my eyeballs in all caps because ???, doesn't look completely stupid i can't look past it, it's nearly every video

browsing youtube is so depressing, man the level of "playing the youtube game" we've reached is beyond embarrassing at this point. catering to the algorithm has caused such an oversaturation of shitty titles and thumbnails that i'm having a tough time sympathizing with folks trying to get their bag

i have, like, the wrong kind of ADHD in which i get really focused in on things most seem to have a tough time staying honed in on, yet i cannot even put OSRS on my second monitor because idling skills is too distracting but it still comes with all the executive dysfunction

name that tune! what started as figuring out chords turned into an outright cover of one of my favorite vgm tracks all parts learned by ear and performed and improvised by myself, save for the drums, which i manually charted out. sorry the mix isn't great! super interested to see who knows this one

can people in my spaces please consider me a real person and talk to me like a real person who actually, like, exists, as my own individual, rather than some mysterious inaccessible being or an accessory of my partner

since they're still quite popular and are spread around a lot, i feel like i should mention that the In Otter News account has long since devolved into a bit of a slop page, mixing in genAI art and photos with real ones, so i'd recommend not sharing them around if you can help it

i don't think it's worth chastising anyone over but i can't help but feel more than a twinge of disappointment at how many people in my circles have decided to quietly return to x.

i cannot allow corpo-speak to infect my vernacular, if you ever hear me use the word "granular" in regular conversation that's your cue to take me out back and do what needs to be done

saw the game FRANKEN mentioned in an article tonight and thought to myself "well that sure sounds familiar" turns out i played this entire game 4 years ago and i have almost no recollection of it. it's really rare that i have seemingly zero memories of something that happened so recently. huh.

(it's more that numbers often don't give the full picture but yeah)

Fotts @fotts.bsky.social · 18/07/2026

"the numbers don't lie" i assure you they sometimes do

190

Fotts @fotts.bsky.social · 18/07/2026

really quite weary of this industry's obsession with converting every crumb of information across every imaginable context into numerical data and treating what they see as steadfast gospel rather than a visual aid or a reference point

there has been a MASSIVE wave of these channels dropping AI generated "cover albums" of video game OSTs and it fucking sucks because there are legitimate musicians who are painstakingly covering these songs and don't get nearly the views.

"genAI bad" feels to me like the most milquetoast take ever these days and yet somehow i still feel like i need to publically make it clear that yes, i too think it sucks shit and is harmful, that should come as no surprise to anyone

0130

Fotts @fotts.bsky.social · 27/03/2026

maybe people assume i will be "more reasonable" about it because i try not to be a reactionary piece of shit about most things, but take one look at what i do for a living and hold an immense amount of passion for, not to mention how much i value my friends' creative crafts. use common sense please

1220

Fotts @fotts.bsky.social · 27/03/2026

it's okay you don't have to be the devil's advocate for genAI to me you can just instead choose not to talk about it to me

thumbnail A/B tests are so funny to me because i always double take and think "haven't i seen this exact video pop up before" and it IS the same video but this time with the addition of the creator's wide-eyed YouTube Face covering half the image
