Saw a newish looking Supra on the highway today, did not realize they were still in production, and had forgotten how nice a car it is 🙌🏽

Seems like macOS 27.0.1 fixed the spaces switching issue for me, small win for the home team 🙌🏽

Installed Pi inside a container machine using the node:24-bookworm-slim image, so far working nicely, and should help keep my machine install clean 😌

I had never heard of Fluxer, looks like I have something new to try 🫡

Hmm… I can lease a mid M5 Ultra Mac Studio… but not a maxed-out M5 Pro Mac mini? Is there a dollar amount or model filter? 🧐

CarPlay keeps freezing on iOS 27… didn’t notice once, and wondered where I was a little too late 🥲

000

Carlos E. Barboza @fossilizedcarlos.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

I bought 4x64GB in July 2025 for $750… same kit is $2,800 now… nuts man.

010

Carlos E. Barboza @fossilizedcarlos.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

Looking forward to this one as well 🙌🏽

000

Carlos E. Barboza @fossilizedcarlos.bsky.social · 19/09/2026

Another one for iOS 27, CarPlay Maps app freezes, have to unplug and replug… super annoying when I miss my turn 🫩

There’s this weird Dynamic Island thing happening with Siri in iOS 27, driving me crazy. It feels like a UI bug… like it hesitates and then the Siri bubble shows up. Makes the interaction feel very jarring 🙂‍↔️

000

Carlos E. Barboza @fossilizedcarlos.bsky.social · 16/09/2026

Asked Siri AI and it gave me the answer 🙌🏽 “Touch and hold an empty space on your Home Screen until the icons begin to jiggle, tap Edit in the top-left corner and select Customize. From there, choose Dark to always use dark icons, or Automatic to have them switch alongside your system settings.”

000

Carlos E. Barboza @fossilizedcarlos.bsky.social · 16/09/2026

I’m on iOS 27, maybe it’s been like this from before, but my icons are not in dark mode… even though my phone is. I didn’t realize it until a few days ago, and can’t figure out how to fix it 🥺

Told my wife about the new burgundy color, she’s says nobody likes burgundy, where’s the pink? 🤣 #AppleEvent

Beginning to think of Fable as the humanities and Astra as the engineering, based on things I’ve asked, and the results from the same requests. Both can do either, but both are stronger at one thing than the other 🤔

000

Carlos E. Barboza @fossilizedcarlos.bsky.social · 06/09/2026

Ok… so I was checking Astra out, mentioned an idea I had, and what I wanted to build… next thing I know this thing is done… like, I was sitting there thinking, and it was done building it 🤣

000

Carlos E. Barboza @fossilizedcarlos.bsky.social · 05/09/2026

I have that for diet, but not zero… weird, wonder if I also need to cold turkey them 🤣

000

Carlos E. Barboza @fossilizedcarlos.bsky.social · 01/09/2026

Rate limiting my password manager login, for a local app… yep, def gonna investigate moving everything to Apple ecosystem. All comes down to “It just works.” 🫩

Open source never ceases to amaze me, like Charm’s Crush, so much polish in the one project 🤌🏽

Carlos E. Barboza @fossilizedcarlos.bsky.social · 19/08/2026

Last 24 hours reminds me of the “Shhh… Let people enjoy things” meme 😅

I am really impressed with the Jellyfin client Moonfin for tvOS, looks nice, and so far it has been just as good as Infuse for my use case.

Saw a Galaxy Z Fold8 in person… not sure the size is for me… but also not sure it is not. Honestly, it felt ok, but I’m too scared I’ll break something like that 😅

Carlos E. Barboza @fossilizedcarlos.bsky.social · 06/08/2026

Managed to use up all of my MiniMax allotment today… that was a first 😅

Carlos E. Barboza @fossilizedcarlos.bsky.social · 31/07/2026

Ubiquiti Travel Router is in stock. Missed it a bunch of times, so pulled the trigger this time 🙌🏽

000

Carlos E. Barboza @fossilizedcarlos.bsky.social · 31/07/2026

Sony has done such a good job in the MCU, so far all the Spider-Man movies have been great, and Spider-Man: Brand New Day did not disappoint 🙂

4th Gen to M5 iPad Pro jump is nuts 😳

010

Carlos E. Barboza @fossilizedcarlos.bsky.social · 16/07/2026

Got an Apple refurbished M5 MacBook Air to replace my M2 Air… such a nice update 😌

000

Carlos E. Barboza @fossilizedcarlos.bsky.social · 10/07/2026

Sol finally showed up today… tested on something menial, in my eyes, which required some research… it ate through my allotment in minutes 🥲😅

000

Carlos E. Barboza @fossilizedcarlos.bsky.social · 09/07/2026

Interesting… I see Terra and Luna, but not Sol 🧐

000

Carlos E. Barboza @fossilizedcarlos.bsky.social · 08/07/2026

Asked Fable 5 to review some code, focus on security and efficiency, and it converted my human slop into AI slop… but I think this is their perfect use case. Reminds me when I was turning wrenches, clean my area when I’m done, sometimes leading to more work from seeing a cleaner picture.

Submitted my first iOS 27 Beta feedback: Apple Pencil double tap does not work, hoping pencil experience gets fixed up, cause I use that feature all the time.

Carlos E. Barboza @fossilizedcarlos.bsky.social · 06/07/2026

Some final touches to simplify UI, a time zone issue fixed on post creation, and a final test 🤞🏽

000

Carlos E. Barboza @fossilizedcarlos.bsky.social · 06/07/2026

Most things seem to be working, that’s good, but something wonky with actual Hugo blog itself 🤔

000

Carlos E. Barboza @fossilizedcarlos.bsky.social · 06/07/2026

Testing v2, new blog syndication strategy 😅

000

Carlos E. Barboza @fossilizedcarlos.bsky.social · 04/07/2026

The ones I subscribe to are mostly weekly, all are medium-length, and have some detail but not book-like. I like to think they fit on a sheet of paper, and I can ingest them in a few minutes.

010

Carlos E. Barboza @fossilizedcarlos.bsky.social · 03/07/2026

This is me, but with Copilot 🤣 “Want me to summarize that detailed engineering document you definitely don’t want summarize?” 😑

000

Carlos E. Barboza @fossilizedcarlos.bsky.social · 02/07/2026

Anyone gotten SiriAI to access pinned map locations? This dude indexed my whole life, but somehow it can’t see pinned map items 😅🤣

000

Carlos E. Barboza @fossilizedcarlos.bsky.social · 30/06/2026

Germany AND Netherlands are out 😳

000

Carlos E. Barboza @fossilizedcarlos.bsky.social · 08/06/2026

Tim sounded like he was signing off for good 🥲 #WWDC26

🤯 perspective reframing looks pretty neat as well #WWDC26

A better clean up tool is nice, but this extend tool seems like a good addition to photos #WWDC26

000

Carlos E. Barboza @fossilizedcarlos.bsky.social · 08/06/2026

I really like my Safari experience super basic, so hoping this part can be turned off if I don’t like the way it works 🤞🏽 #WWDC26

000

Carlos E. Barboza @fossilizedcarlos.bsky.social · 08/06/2026

Siri AI looks good… if it actually works as displayed 😅 #WWDC26

000

Carlos E. Barboza @fossilizedcarlos.bsky.social · 08/06/2026

I appreciate this vision for Apple Intelligence… now let’s see what it enables 🤔 #WWDC26

Apple mail spam filtering has been brutal these last few days, not sure what changed, but seriously considering SpamSieve for the first time ever.
