People tell me they’re stretching prescriptions to the end of the month. Skipping doses because they can’t afford a refill. No one should have to make that choice. The Inflation Reduction Act capped the cost of each covered insulin at $35 a month for people on Medicare.

The First Amendment protects a free press for all of us. We don’t have to agree with every story a news outlet publishes to defend its right to report. If a president can decide who gets to ask questions based on whether he likes the coverage, every one of our freedoms becomes less secure.

Southern Illinois farmers help feed and power our country. Right now, they’re being squeezed from all sides. Tariffs and trade disputes make it harder to sell what they grow. High diesel and gas prices raise the cost of running equipment and hauling crops. Fertilizer costs are rising, too.

If someone loses health coverage, the need for care doesn’t disappear. They still need their prescriptions, their doctor, and a place to go when they’re sick. Last year, Congress passed the “One Big Beautiful Bill,” and Representative Mike Bost voted for it. The law changes Medicaid eligibility.

Mike Bost says he’s America First. So let’s look at his record. On July 15 of this year, Bost voted YEA for the H.R. 8595, which included $3.3 billion in security assistance for Israel. Meanwhile, Southern Illinois families are having to stretch paychecks even further.
