Yay, got a lovely card from @dotmeow With this we confirm that penguins can and do indeed meow! #dotmeow
Photo of a small white card lying on top of a brown paper envelope.

The card is handwritten. The card says: "Hey Foster, / Thank you so much for all of your support in making meow a reality – we all really appreciate it / – wordloc :3 / Confirmed: Tux says meow!"

In the bottom right corner of the card there is a doodle of Tux the penguin (mascot of Linux) with a speech bubble that says "meow".

In the top right corner of the envelope there is one postal stamp from Belgium. It is marked "1 - Europe / 2025", has a styled drawing by Geert Wille of a mail carrier in a red shirt and red baseball cap. The carrier is putting a letter in the mailbox. Over the picture, a heart outline is drawn, in which it says "Happy Postcrossing".

Under the postal stamp there is also a blue sticker with white "A - Prior" text and a symbol of a plane.

Also got this pop-up today on #iOS 27 release. I would assume this might be related to iMessage/FaceTime, but I don't think it was ever called iCloud? Or some new feature? None of this showed up on the release candidate build. Maybe some server-side thing Apple enabled yesterday. #Apple

[Apple, WWDC, AI image manipulation] In a surprise to absolutely nobody, looks like #Apple's #WWDC26 wallpaper is AI-manipulated, judging by the leftover metadata in the file. The layer names look a lot like AI prompts to me. developer.apple.com/wwdc26/wallpaper #WWDC2026

* Add a bit more shape into the inner glow in the leaf. We lost shape in the process of darkening the inner glow in the leaf. Created a rough hack below.
* Tone down edge highlight by 60%
* Let’s take out the edge abberations on the left side of the leaf. Reference the right side of the leaf for creative intent.
* Tone down outer glow on the leaf. Created a rough hack of the outer glow.
* The end of the abberation is looking a patchy. It also ends abruptly and creates an angular shape. Let’s extend the abberation a bit so that it tapers off smoothly. Also add a bit more of the edge highlight back. Use the hack as reference.
* Thank you for adjusting the outerglow of the leaf. I think the sweet spot for the glow is between the brigthness of R4 and R3. Created a hack below for the level of glow.

Screenshot of a Wikipedia article summary for "self-deprecation".

Subtitle: Act of devaluating one's self-worth.

Summary follows:

Self-deprecation is the act of reprimanding oneself by belittling, undervaluing, disparaging oneself, or being excessively modest. It can be used as a way to make complaints, express modesty, invoke optimal reactions or add humour. It may also be used as a way for individuals to appear more likable and agreeable. Self-deprecation was recommended by philosophers of Stoicism as a response to insults. Instead of getting defensive, people should join in by insulting themselves even more. According to the Stoics, this will remove the sting from the insult. It will also disappoint the interlocutor because the person failed to show upset in response to words that were supposed to hurt them, thereby reducing the chance that they will try to upset the person like that again. People prefer self-criticism over being criticized by others…
