Neue Deutsche Welle? The band can only be understood within its geographical, historical, and cultural context. Post-WWII Germany, Berlin-Mauerstadt. Goethe, Wagner. Somewhere between Ton Steine Scherben and Trio. Terrific, a necessity.

Stimmt. Irgendwie ein anderes Musikverständnis. Macht das Ganze umso sympathischer. Auch dieses Undogmatische. Wurde keinem Ex-Mitglied angekreidet, komplett anderen Stil zu fabrizieren.

Und kein Gründungsmitglied mehr an Bord. Als hätte es ein Eigenleben entwickelt. Bei Scorn fand ich den Übergang spannend, von Band zu Solo. White Irises Blind. Sehr seltsame Musik.

Crust/Anarcho/Black Sabbath/Swans auf 33RPM/Roots-Dub-Reggae/British Industrial/Noise/+ Nichtskönnen. Scorn verfolge ich auch schon seit der ersten VÖ mit. Ähnlich beeindruckend. ND war ein ThinkTank. Was die Band alles ausgespuckt hat ist beachtlich.

Godflesh hat für mich Alles verändert. Ohne Internet war das viel Arbeit dem Begriff Industrial auf die Schliche zu kommen. Das hat mich wieder in die 80er befördert. Von SPK bis Heaven 17, Neubauten bis Trio.

Die erste ‚gut‘ produzierte ND LP. Für viele deshalb zu Metal. Bei Mass Appeal Madness hat der Spagat dann funktioniert, der Knaller. Die Beste Bolt Thrower hatte ich erst später entdeckt, Mercenary, da rollt der Stahl. Forbidden fand ich im Übrigen auch toll.
