That’s all I can see - a big cartoon face even after reading your explanation of what it actually is! 🤷🏻‍♀️🤔

I am so very sorry to read this. I will be thinking of you and your family over the coming days/months. Sending gentle hugs

A small sparrow clings to the bricks above the window. It peers curiously into my kitchen and surveys the room. Suddenly a quick hover, a peck at the window and it leaves. I realise the corner spider is no longer in the middle of its web.

A baby blackbird experimentally picks up an old flower, feels it with beak and tongue, makes a decision and swallows it whole. Snags another one, pauses for a minute, thinks maybe it can make better life choices. Hops away in search of better food.

Please tell me one of them was Rustle.. 🤔 you do have my sympathies as someone who has to spell both my names for everyone and although I thought I’d chosen a first name for my child that no one could mess up it still happens on a surprisingly frequent basis. 🤷🏻‍♀️

That face is entirely too innocent for such a crime! 😱

I’m guessing he felt that he needed to contribute to your daily step goal and exercise totals? 😬

Our gp surgery will supply one pair every 6 months! 🙄 I found some on amazon warehouse that were only £12 - 2XU brand leggings. They are tight enough if you get their recovery range usually quite expensive but sometimes cheaper on warehouse or in their own sale.

We used to grow grass in a shallow tray for our little indoor fluffball. Definitely perfectly normal behaviour. 😬

This made me smile, love those books. Sorry it’s bad news but glad you are maybe getting some answers now, I hope it helps at least a little (preferably a lot!).

The perks of having a blind cat! Mine went extremely deaf and I finally managed to open a tuna can in peace (did shed a little tear though the first time it happened).

Cool runnings is a better match with the feature wall colour (on my screen anyway), the other just doesn’t seem to go quite as well - maybe just a shade too dark?

That sounds amazing. So glad they’re working for you.

An interesting read, thank you. (It may be worth removing the AI reply to a prompt for writing the blog post partway through?)

1. Do you have a weighted top/blanket that you can have nearby? The gentle pressure can be quite soothing and grounding. I’m quite tactile so like to have soft things around that I can stim with. 2. Not being unreasonable at all. As others have said having someone you can direct them to may help?

I managed a 10 on this one. 😎 funnily enough I did the long version of this a while back & scored exactly the same as my child - they were later diagnosed autistic. Just don’t think I’ve got the energy to go through the waiting and assessment faff for myself but also feel a fraud without it. 🤷🏻‍♀️

He looks like the most relaxed cat ever. So secure and confident in his home.

I think you need more powders to make your fluids lumpy and grainy - that way you *know* they’re doing something. How about creatine, inulin and D-Ribose to start? 😊

This is such a cool idea for a useful way of using AI. Bummer it’s still so unreliable. I hope its memory issues improve for you.

Family and care givers can sign up too though as the healthy controls from reading their “blurb”.

Forgetful frog @forgetmefrog.bsky.social · 17/08/2025
I understood it to mean that you could still volunteer if you didn’t have a chronic illness so that they had “healthy controls” to compare with the ME or long Covid cohort?

Screensaver type things to watch (with or without sound) - eg underseascapes, fire, aquariums. Keeps my eyes busy whilst my brain can wander/shut down.

Dioralyte - the unflavoured one if you can’t tolerate anything else. It can be better than water (especially if you’re pots-y) and gives you a bit of an energy boost with the sugar. Helps me be able to tolerate small amounts of food later.

He is adorable and sooooo flluuuffffffyyyy!! Glad to see he is treating his offerings with the appropriate amount of cat disdain. Must be feeling right at home. 😊

Depends on if you were eating all those amazingly aromatic food in an enclosed space on a hot day??? Looks very tasty though. 😊

I’m so sorry to hear you’re still having problems. Dr Claire Taylor is well known on Twitter for her private work & is very knowledgable about orthostatic intolerance/POTs/dysautonomia. There is a NHs tertiary dysautonomia clinic but it’s in London so I don’t know if Scottish NHS would refer there.

I’m still having to tell them that I’m not diabetic because 18 years ago(!!!) I was taking a diabetic drug off label for a different condition and a consultant assumed I was diabetic from my list of drugs I was taking. I still haven’t managed to get it scrubbed from everywhere. 🙄🤬

Me too! The seed ticks are so small a few have got past my defences. Didn’t realise how ill I really felt until I started antibiotics it really is unpleasant.

I don’t go anywhere near there now without a set of tick hooks. Got one out of me that could only have been there for a few hours and still got the rash 3 weeks later. 🙄

In England if you can find a willing consultant or GP (I know…..hens teeth etc etc) then they can write a “patient specific directive” saying you should get the Covid vaccination. Our wonderful consultant has just done that but it’s taken us a few years to find out about it. 🙄🙄

Also just think back to before this began - any medication or food changes etc that could be a trigger? Often there isn’t anything. Thinking of you and I do hope it settles soon for you.

No real advice apart from Trying to reduce stimulus. For me just reminding myself that although it may feel like it will never end all things do pass and this will too. Maybe having as many things that help settle you as possible - eg low effort, safe foods, weighted blanket, quiet times etc?

Forgetful frog @forgetmefrog.bsky.social · 22/04/2025
I think things will become relatively more expensive sadly.
000
Forgetful frog @forgetmefrog.bsky.social · 21/04/2025
Definitely rest, try to reduce stimuli, do what helps you relax - ie stimming etc and accept that these happen and don’t beat yourself up about it (I find myself going down a rabbit hole sometimes of “I should have seen it coming”).

Ours was from Amazon. We keep It in a duvet cover which we can wash as it’s too heavy for our washing machine.

Defitniely agree say the nausea with POTs is awful. Like you mentioned would also consider MCAS with gastric symptoms rather than the “usual” allergic hives?

It’s quite sedated looking at its little head wobbles and dilated pupils.
