I can probably squeeze another player into Swordthrust if you ask.

My AKRPG games in Wasilla are filling up! The open spots in the Godzilla game barely matter - it’s meant to be a game where anyone can walk by, grab a monster, play a couple of turns, then walk away. That said, people usually end up playing for hours once they join in & knock down a few buildings!

Jason’s maps are beautiful and brilliant, and this will make a fine addition to anyone’s games library.

Sorting out castings of Thorn, a character from Howie Bentley’s sword & sorcery novels. Painted mini by Patrick Flamion!

I was FAR too far into adulthood before I truly appreciated how important Doug MacClure’s contribution to my childhood was.

4/4 If you are not in the US, you’re welcome to enter, but, you’ve gotta pay for your own shipping because international shipping prices right now are bananas. BANANAS!! It was $70 to ship two 30mm minis to the UK last week, so, you’ve been warned.

Forge of Ice 🔜 Alaska RPG Con in Wasilla! @forgeofice.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

3/4 I’ll do the drawing analog - I’ll write all the entries on little scraps of paper and draw them out of a hat in like a week or so. And then I’ll mail the mini to anywhere in the USA for free.

2/4 ‘Like’ the post and I’ll enter your name once. Comment something about your favorite Lost World (or Sword & Sorcery) setting, book, or trope, & I’ll enter your name twice. If you expand on that and/or talk about how you’d use this fallen statue in your games, I’ll enter your name 3 times!

1/4 Time for a giveaway! I broke one of my Snake Priestess minis, so I rebased her & painted her up as a fallen statue. Suitable for use as a terrain piece or objective marker, or maybe there’s a hidden mystery or treasure there! Or she can just sit on your shelf! I’ll do the giveaway thusly:

Had a dream about giant crocodiles that shed their whole skins like snakes as they grew, and an old woman who collected the skins and rolled them into bolts like cloth. … I’m not sure what I’m gonna use that for, but it’s gonna go into something I write somewhere.

… but are they moving to places like CNN and MSNBC, or are they moving to OAN and the Blaze? I’m real happy to see Fox News withering away into irrelevance, but I still need to know a little more.

Until I’ve got a significant stock of these they wont be in the online store, so I’ll just be selling them direct to folks who message me.

These are starting to make their way out into the world, so I’ll post about it! The Ophidian Menace boxed set - 6 metal minis, 1 large resin piece, a short Shadowdark adventure on a two-sheet scroll rolled up tight so it fits in the box! $100 + shipping - I’ve got two left! Hit me up directly.

For an account that I set up mainly to talk about and promote my own stuff, I don’t think I talk about my own miniatures here often enough. So, here’s an upcoming new Forge of Ice figure sculpted by Leandro Ventic that’s about to hit my painting table - Katja Giantslayer.

Occasionally! I’m currently reading some literary junk food by L Sprague de Camp, but I love that, too.

Today I made my semi-annual drive up to the 12-mile summit, just to enjoy the view & eat a sandwich. It’s still a nice drive, but sadly the cloud cover & rain meant that there was near-zero visibility, so, I took this pic, ate my sandwich, and went home. Still not a bad way to spend an afternoon.

This old tweet is evergreen, and I was recently introduced to the very useful term, ‘bean soup’. I’m still always slightly flabbergasted when I encounter examples in the wild. In what universe is “Don’t play with people who are aggressively asshole-ish” an idealized fictional scenario?

I write “Toy soldiers” or “Toy monsters” on mine, usually. So far that’s been fine, but, who knows what the latest changes will mandate.

HA!! Of COURSE the billionaire YouTuber didn’t hire a ghostwriter - its all prompted. Makes complete sense. … … god, I don’t know if that makes me more or less curious to see the train wreck.

Forge of Ice 🔜 Alaska RPG Con in Wasilla! @forgeofice.bsky.social · 04/09/2026

Oh, I have near-zero interest in MrBeast, I’m just curious what a YouTuber who doesn’t read thinks a book named after one of the most famous short stories of all time should look like. I’m also assuming that he & Patterson both ghostwrote their parts.

This is an amazing joke, but, also, I have to admit that I have some intense morbid curiosity about the book. If I see it on the shelf in a store, I might stop to read a few paragraphs, if only to experience The Horrors firsthand.

I think I’ll stick with buying the occasional vintage metal figure off of EBay. That said, if enough of their customers are willing to pay that price, they have no incentive to lower the cost.

In my opinion, the big Mothership boxed set is one of the top four or five TTRPG products I’ve ever encountered in my whole life. It’s even cooler when you’ve got @atomicpaul.bsky.social running the game and drawing player portraits for everyone!
