#TheCureFriday This is the time of year when I usually settle into the grey drizzly days with 17 Seconds, Faith and Pornography. But I’m currently traveling around parts of the world where autumn doesn’t exist. In honor of Mt Etna erupting here yesterday, I pick Burn. 🔥 youtu.be/3fSPMezUj9Q?...

#JoyDivision #😂😂😂😂😂 Conversation with a late- fifties-ish Italian woman in our hotel in Naples, wearing a shirt like this. Me: I like your shirt. Her: Thank you. Madrid. Me: And Joy Division. Her: No. Madrid. In Spain.

Madrid tourist t-shirt that is a play on Joy Division’s Unknown Pleasures album cover. It has a map of Madrid in the center of the peaks of the iconic pulsar waves. It states Madrid Placeres Conocidos.

#PortDeSoller #Mallorca #Sunset #Eclipse Beautiful sunset at Port de Soller, Mallorca, following a today’s eclipse. This was my first total solar eclipse and it was amazing! Such an eerie darkness at totality. An absolute dream!

Remains of the sunset over the harbor at Port de Sóller, Mallorca following the solar eclipse. The sky and water are glowing pink, orange and yellow between the headlands, each with a lighthouse. There are several boats moored in the bay.

#TheCure #ThoughtfulCoworker Last few days at work and a very thoughtful gal that’s worked with me for the past few months made this amazing card! It’s so adorable!🖤

Handmade card with black background. The top has Wish album-like drawings of distorted hands and teeth. Yellow writing on the atop font that says “you are the Cure for so many” and a pink writing in Head in the Door font that says “thank you thank you thank you”

#Wine #Winemaking #PinotNoir Spending the afternoon working in our little vineyard and taking glamor shots of our wine in mason jars. 😂

A large hand holding a half pint jar of Pinot noir with a small vineyard behind it and a hillside with some middle aged Douglas firs against a blue sky in the distance.

An even more zoomed in large hand holding a half pint jar of Pinot noir with a small vineyard behind it. The wine is a gorgeous ruby red in the sunlight.

#Winemaking #PinotNoir Bottled up 12 cases of wine today. Something very special about bottling last year’s sunshine from vines we planted half a dozen years ago. Tastes like a not- sweet raspberry jolly rancher. Delicious!!! 🍷🍷🍷

Photo of a wine bottle being filled with an Enomatic wine filler. Several empty bottles wait behind it to be filled. A small mason jar glass of wine sits to the right of the auto filler.

“Too much politics on the timeline. Quote this with a maligned food that you enjoy” Spinach. I fucking love spinach. Raw, sautéed, baked with cream, layered in pastries, stuffed in sandwiches, tucked in omelettes, spiced with paneer… if spinach ice cream existed I would probably enjoy it.

Looked out the window yesterday and saw a field full of vultures.

View through a window out to a freshly mown field with several Turkey Vultures congregating. One is perched on a low fence, another is coming in for a landing, a few are scattered around while a small grouping of 5 vultures appear to be feasting on something together further out in the field.

Preparations for the inevitable Dirt Nap Day are underway in our household. Started off at Sonic Boom Babes. Unsafe and Insane! Great Family Pac’s! Great Kid’s Stuff! Free Hats!

Fireworks stand (one of many) on Swinomish Reservation on Fidalgo Island in Washington State, USA. A plywood kiosk painted blue (with red and white accents) with a large business sign “Sonic Boom Babes”, adorned with American flags, plywood cutouts painted like fireworks, hand painted signs stating “Unsafe and Insane” “Great Family PAC’s - Great Kids’ Stuff” “Free Hats”. Lots of large fireworks displayed with a large Mastercard/ Visa sign hanging. A red, white and blue camo chair with stars sits off to the side.

We visited this evening in preparation for Dirt Nap Day celebrations, when the day finally comes.
