A John Doe in a 47 year old #ColdCase was identified as Jessie Lee Williamson, 52, last week after more than 11 years of extensive #DNAtesting. Williamson’s body was found by a maintenance worker Aug. 1, 1978, an autopsy later showed he suffered multiple gunshot wounds and severe burns.

On May 16, 2025, Walker County authorities exhumed the remains of a Jane Doe first discovered in 1984, with the goal of applying advanced forensic techniques to aid in her identification. Despite decades of effort, her identity has remained a mystery since her discovery. #ColdCase #Forensics
