My only contribution to the Crimson Desert discourse is this clip of me being beaten up by an invisible person then dragged repeatedly through a table because I cheated at gambling. It is buggy as hell.

Back home from *the* most insane press trip I’ve ever been on. Still feels like a fever dream. Words (on the game, not the trip) coming to @polygon.com at the end of the month.

Ford James @fordjames.bsky.social · 01/05/2025

All the best, Matt. So sorry to see the news. Hope you land on your feet!

Ford James @fordjames.bsky.social · 19/03/2025

Very late to the party but whew, A Short Hike. What a lovely little game!

Ford James @fordjames.bsky.social · 07/02/2025

Agreed, but to be fair I think that would've been the case anyway. Doesn't feel like SI has had much in the way of faith or goodwill from players for a while, so each year has plenty of folks who skip to begin with, I reckon this will exacerbate that.

Ford James @fordjames.bsky.social · 07/02/2025

No surprises, called it when it was delayed. Lots of chatter around them being obligated to release a game annually which was always just hearsay. Can't say I'm disappointed either, but FM26 has a *lot* of living up to do.

A reminder that I have a Google Calendar with (almost) every upcoming video game release I can find, and I’ve just given it a huge update covering the next few months. DM me your email if you’d like to be added to it!

Bluesky needs the profile balloons on your birthday like Twitter has. Possibly the only pro for keeping Twitter. In other news, happy birthday to me 🥳 life starts at 29, they say

Finally hopped on the Balatro train today and pressed discard by mistake instead of play hand. Not gonna make that mistake again 💀

I am so fucking ready for The Witcher 4. That’s gonna be a proper book a week off work sort of game. Well, it would be if I had a different occupation.

Ford James @fordjames.bsky.social · 09/12/2024

It's finally done. I can play another video game at last.

Ford James @fordjames.bsky.social · 29/11/2024

I haven’t played a video game properly for a while now, but I am so looking forward to picking something up over the Christmas break. I’m still yet to play Balatro so I think that’s a must, but I also need to play Spider-Man 2 finally, revisit Dragon’s Dogma 2, Star Wars Outlaws is staring at me…

Jungle set holo Electrode. A core memory as a kid is when I dropped it down the side of a table on a train, so my dad whipped out a screwdriver and unscrewed the table from the side of the train to fish the card back out. It’s long gone now, but definitely wouldn’t be a PSA 10 after that experience!

The view from out of my window at about 5am! Was half asleep so it’s not the best photo but I couldn’t believe how misty it was outside.

Hey new folks 👋 I’ve been fairly quiet on here recently as I’ve dialled back my social media use generally (and I am still, much to my dismay, using Twitter infrequently) but I’ll be making an effort here more. TL;DR: I’m a freelance games journo. Shout if you need guides/reviews (including mocks)!
