I read somewhere that you can get certified now without actually knowing and demonstrating how to use Dive Tables, compute RNT, etc. - cuz the computer will do it for you. (PADI Basic since 1984, SSI Adv. Open Water since 1985)

IIRC (Pedantic alert) A charge of treason requires (under the Constitution) that we be in an official state of war - i.e. Congress has to declare that we are at war. But I would also serve on his firing squad- but Privately, with no unusual means/methods or cruelty.

Exactly. Voting third party just means you gave your vote to the winner of the other two parties. It’s MATH. And math doesn’t care about your high-moral ground stance. A conversation about abolishing the electoral college is totally legit, but don’t fall on your sword. That’s how we lost ROE v.

Many progressive Countries require immigrants to learn their national language before becoming naturalized. Canada requires immigrants to learn either English or French. I think we could require something similar - English or Spanish or French.

IOW we can tell them to “f’ off” and ignore them- but then what? We can’t just do what we want unless we disenfranchise them in some way because they have the votes to block. But if we do nothing they continue to use agitprop and class resentment to build their electoral base. Or we compromise.

This is a tough one. The racists have enough of the electorate that they can influence or even set policy. The only way to change this (afaik) is to use either the Lakoff approach (takes forever) to change minds, or abandon our Democratic values and do what is right without their consent.
