Robbert Prins @foppygames.bsky.social · 28/06/2026I just saw The Mandalorian and Groku in the cinema and enjoyed it, I liked the series and this has a similar feel. Groku is the best and I also like the music. 100
Robbert Prins @foppygames.bsky.social · 25/02/2026I got the c64 from my youth from the attic once more and have just loaded Beamrider (by Activision) from tape successfully. :) 101
Robbert Prins @foppygames.bsky.social · 03/01/2026I took part in #toyboxjam2025 and made a game (played with a keyboard) about defending chickens from alien invaders. foppygames.itch.io/batty-piglet It reminded me that it's fun creating small(er) games.foppygames.itch.ioBatty Piglet by FoppygamesTwo best friends team up in this invader shooter 010
Robbert Prins @foppygames.bsky.social · 15/08/2025Altough more substantial parts of my turn-based roguelike are still waiting to be developed, I decided to work on the look of the interface for a bit. I am changing the flat look it had before (which I did not hate) to a more 3d-ish look. This sets the interface apart from the world graphics. 030
Robbert Prins @foppygames.bsky.social · 20/07/2025In this screenshot of the game I am working on, the player is carrying a loaded bow and a shield, which is controversial. In the center of the room is a stone troll, which will only move if it is angered by repeated attacks and proximity. This can lead to puzzles on how to get through a room. 030
Robbert Prins @foppygames.bsky.social · 15/04/2025I am changing the "Skeleton Dungeon" graphics from 24x24 to 36x36 and centering the view on the player, so sprites can be seen better and the world can be larger than the screen. Now for some actual gameplay... 140
Robbert Prins @foppygames.bsky.social · 22/02/2025As my game does not have a levelling system, I am adding armor that can absorb damage, as a means of effectively increasing the hp pool of player and monsters. Here the player is wearing 'cloth armor' (one step up from 'old rags'). Maybe the player sprite should be a tad bigger. 040
Robbert Prins @foppygames.bsky.social · 10/02/2025A playable demo of my turn based roguelike (in portrait mode for phones) is now on itch.io. I plan to update it regularly. Right now it's just one level. Still much to do! foppygames.itch.io/skeleton-dun...foppygames.itch.ioSkeleton Dungeon by FoppygamesWork in progress turn based roguelike 040
Robbert Prins @foppygames.bsky.social · 06/02/2025The player can now throw items in my #turnbased game, but it will not hit monsters yet, just the wall. 030
Robbert Prins @foppygames.bsky.social · 27/01/2025I added an animation system to my turn based roguelike. Now it is easier to see how an item moves from one location to another. Next I plan to add sequencing of messages and animations, so results of actions can be presented to the player step by step instead of all at once. 020
Robbert Prins @foppygames.bsky.social · 11/01/2025"Skeleton Dungeon" (GameMaker) now has snakes that can bite and poison the player. They only attack if the player gets close. I am considering to not have an XP system as I want to avoid having to kill all creatures just to level up. Instead the collected items make the player stronger. 010
Robbert Prins @foppygames.bsky.social · 01/12/2024My roguelike uses a simple line of sight system: the room you are in is visible, and from a doorway both rooms are visible. This suits the room layout which is made using 'binary space partitioning', giving only rectangular rooms. 140
Robbert Prins @foppygames.bsky.social · 20/11/2024I have been working on this turn based roguelike in GameMaker for a few months now. It is to be played on phones. The player can attack enemies, now code has to be added for the enemies to act. I am happy with how GameMaker works and was even able to test on my phone without much hassle. 0120
