I gotta get something off of my chest, take your time to read or share idc but I needed to speak up.

I'm exhausted.
Exhausted from watching a world burn while so many others pretend the smoke alarm isn't going off.
All genocides. All wars. All families being torn apart because they look "different" or speak with an accent. Innocent people get shot. Women stripped of their rights. Children learning from a young age how to hide and hope to survive another day or even being sexually mutilated or used.
These are not far from my bed stories. These are human lives. Every single day.
I know how privileged I am. I know where I come from, how I look, and that I live in a country where I have rights and don't wake up every morning fearing for my life. And that awareness is crushing me. And feeling safe while others are not, just simply because of who they are feels unbearable to watch. I just wished I could switch bodies so you don't have to suffer.

Feeling for so much horror slowly breaks you.
I sign petitions. I try to raise awareness. I keep talking, sharing. And financially I give where I can. And still... I feel like I am running out of options. Like my small efforts make no difference.
My great-grandmother came from Ukraine. She fought. She hoped. She survived it back then.
She passed in 2012 but, I can almost hear her voice saying, "I thought we said, never again".
She would be terrified of this world. Of how quickly we normalize what should never be normal.
What hurts the most is indifference. The brushing off. The "I'm not into politics or don't make everything political", while this is no longer politics. This is human rights. This is humanity.
This is morality. This is a reflection of who you are when it matters.
Back in 2016, people said I was overreacting.
That I was afraid of things that "would never happen."
But yet, here we are.

I will not stop sharing.
Not because I believe my voice will change everything, but because silence is agreeing to injustice. Silence makes you complicit.
