I find it slightly weird that my reported result is New York, when on the map, it looks like Hawaii and the California coast (which I would expect) are the most red 😬

I ended up ordering some readers from Amazon because all the readers I’ve found locally at like Longs or Walmart are kinda narrow/small for my face, and the description on Amazon for the ones I ordered is…unforgiving 😝😝😝

There are also two additional varieties! One that’s basically “all yolk” and one that’s Korean style with a sesame oil seasoning!

Two packages of tamago kake gohan sauce from Japanese store Don Quijote. All of the writing is in Japanese, but the left side package contains the Korean style sauce, while the right side package contains the double yolk sauce.

The finished product! The Texas BBQ struck me as more peppery, and the Kansas City BBQ more tomato-y (as it should), and the ingredients seem to bear that out; Texas features beef stock and black pepper, while Kansas City features pork stock, molasses, and tomato. Both are tasty and worth trying!

Dry, both flavors look pretty similar, with the Kansas City version a little redder. You can see the standard textured soy protein meat bits in both, but no real vegetables to speak of in either.

When you heat it up, it softens up a bit. If you work at it, it gets sort of pasty, like deviled ham. It actually looks — and tastes — a lot like corned beef hash, minus the potatoes.
