Food in Community @foodincommunity.bsky.social · 5hOctober 🍎🥬 🍂 Summer crops have faded, but the growing season is far from over. Autumn is one of the busiest times in the vegetable calendar. This year’s harvest tells a story of resilience. Some crops thriving, others bear the marks of the drought. Through it all, nature continues its recovery. 110
Food in Community @foodincommunity.bsky.social · 04/09/2026Freshly gathered this week. Served this Saturday. Our volunteers have been out harvesting organic produce for this week’s Pay What You Feel lunch. What starts in the field ends around a shared table, bringing people together over good food, live music and conversation. 110
Food in Community @foodincommunity.bsky.social · 24/08/2026This summer has been hard. On the farms we work with, we’ve seen the effects of drought firsthand: crop loss, produce damaged by heat and pests, and people working through incredibly challenging conditions. 🧵1 140
Food in Community @foodincommunity.bsky.social · 06/08/2026While most people were settling in for the evening, a group of eleven volunteer pickers were out in a beetroot field making sure the crop would be eaten, not wasted. Picking later in the day meant a more comfortable glean, with plenty of conversation, shared fruit and banter along the rows. 110

Food in Community @foodincommunity.bsky.social · 29/07/2026Today’s surplus could be tomorrow’s food security. Courgettes and tomatoes are abundant right now.
