“the fight back starts here” as though trans people weren’t actively fighting before and were just waiting for starmer’s knights in shining armour to suggest they shouldn’t put their boots on our neck
A post from James Austin

“Rally is as packed as anything l've been to at Conferance - with a huge range of excellent, passionate speakers.
The fight back against the EHRC guidance and to rebuild trans rights starts here. 1/3”

i’m conflicted on the one hand, burnham is actively stripping me of my basic human rights. but on the other, he’s a fellow radical bean activist so it’s kind of a love-hate relationship
A Telegraph article titled “Compulsive lentils in Labour school meals shake-up”

Subheading: “Food governors will monitor adherence to 'pulse day' and restrictions on ice cream and deep-fried foods”

Written by Daisy Graham-Brown, a “Senior News Reporter” and published 13/09/26 at 10:30PM BST

“Schoolchildren will be made to eat lentils and chickpeas once a week and ice cream will be restricted under
Labour plans.”

Had to trawl through the recording, but its Conservatives/Reform voting for, Labour abstaining, and Green/Lib Dems against. Labour all abstained because they agree in theory, but did not agree with the calls for prescription. The Lib Dems said similar, but ultimately voted against.

I could address each of Burnham’s shitty picks individually, but I think this image sums it up pretty well.
A cardboard sign being held up at a protest. It reads:
“Our expectations for you were low but HOLY FUCK”

Not to mention a healthy sprinkle of tone policing to finish it all off.

Sorry, it’s from The Times but I couldn’t find anywhere else with a direct quote. www.thetimes.com/uk/politics/...
An extract from the attached article. Andy Burnham on the EHRC guidance:

“However, at his campaign launch on Friday he said: "I think the time has come to take the Supreme Court ruling and the guidance, and implement it, but to do it in a way that protects those spaces but does not marginalise already marginalised communities, that's my view.”

“Verdict: Andy Burnham is an ally.” It’s a bit dishonest that you mention his 2022 support for trans inclusion, but not his 2026 explicit reversal on that position when talking about his supposed allyship.
Andy Burnham in The Times, talking about trans rights.

‘However, at his campaign launch on Friday he said: "I think the time has come to take the Supreme Court ruling and the guidance, and implement it, but to do it in a way that protects those spaces but does not marginalise already marginalised communities, that's my view.”’

No spin on the second part, Burnham lays it out quite clearly that “the time has come” to implement segregation. www.thetimes.com/uk/politics/...

IT ACTUALLY HAPPENED!!! STARMER DIGNITY AND RESPECT LETS GO!!!
"We would rather this happens in a dignified and respectful way. There are big challenges facing the country so it would be much better ... But if he digs in at Downing Street then we'll force him out," a senior campaign figure said.

'I wouldn't flinch' insists man, age 56, actively recoiling from a challenge.
A quote from the below Guardian article. Andy Burnham on Shabana Mahmood's immigration reforms:
"Immigration comes up regularly on the doorstep in Makerfield. Burnham was supportive of Mahmood's controversial changes. "I applaud the home secretary, actually, for the way in which she's faced up to some of the issues that need to be gripped."

He’s been enough of a flop already. If he abandons marginalised communities under no pressure, what happens when he’s exposed to the whole of the media?

Also want to point out that Stonewall just straight-up lies in their coverage of Scottish Labour in the "Supporting LGBTQ+ young people to thrive" section. They literally mention that they will force schools to provide single sex spaces, and I'm pretty sure school is mostly attended by young people.
From the Stonewall Scottish election coverage:
"Scottish Labour - There is no reference to LGBTQ+ young people in the Scottish Labour Manifesto."From the Scottish Labour Manifesto:
"Delivering single-sex spaces on the basis of biological sex, in NHS wards, schools, sports and everyday life by upholding the Equality Act and delivering clear instructions to public services on how to comply with their legal obligation to women and to trans people."

Hey! That’s not very nice! Being an idiot would be more like… believing conversion therapy is effective treatment for trans children.
Kier Starmer, holding an uncomfortable looking child.
“I had to send your friend to conversion therapy, we need JK’s money. Anyway kiddo we sent them off with dignity and respect. But you can say goodbye properly at their funeral. - Labour, rotten to the core”

Another banger from the Policy Exchange! Of course I should be treated as a potential extremist Russian asset! I committed the heinous crime of *checks notes* existing. I’m sure glad the sensible adults are in the room right now!
New laws may now be needed but they would need to come with legal safeguards.
"If I was a foreign intelligence officer, of course I would ensure that the UK hated itself and its history," he says in the speech.
"That the very definition of woman should be put into question, and that masculinity would be presented as toxic.
"That white people should be ashamed and non-white people aggrieved. I would promote antisemitism within politics.
"My intention would be to cause both immediate and long-term damage to the national security of the UK by exploiting the freedom and openness of the UK by providing funds, exploiting social media, and entryism."

Nothing says “we care about your safety” quite like forcing trans women into men’s prisons to get raped. Or forcing Universities to platform hate preachers, then fining them if their students even so much as think of standing up for their friends. And lest we forget, there’s also this guy.

The first line of BP’s statement should make that more than obvious. “protection of single-sex spaces” is such a blaring dog-whistle I could hear it from halfway across the country.
“This government has always supported the protection of single-sex spaces based on biological sex.” - The Rt Hon Bridget Phillipson MP (Houghton and Sunderland South)
