Volume 16 is a respectably hefty tome

Afterword on the Graphic Novel Cover. Text from the author reads, "The Kafka on the cover of volume 1 is the furthest from Mina when it comes to volume number. The Kafka on volume 16 is right beside her. I planned it that way on purpose, which is why Mina doesn't make her cover debut until volume 15, during the endgame of the story. However, by the time volume 15 released, I wasn't sure how many chapters I would need to finish the story. What if my plans went awry amd the story reached volume 17? I'd be doing a disservice to Mina by making her wait until volume 15! But much to my relief, I managed to fit all the chapters in a rather chunky volume 16, so Kafka ended up beside Mina like I had planned."

This week's Dandadan episode used the Atomic Robo method for fighting giant monsters

During all this, Volescu was huddled on the churned up rock, losing his shit, not that I was unsympathetic. I was far less vulnerable in this situation than he was and I wasn't exactly having a great time either. I said, "Dr. Volescu, you need to come with me now."

He didn't respond. MedSystem was advising a tranq shot and blah blah blah, but I was clamping one arm on Dr. Bharadwaj's suit to keep ber from bleeding out and supporting her head with the other, and despite everything I only have two hands. I told my helmet to retract so he could see my human face. If the hostile came back and bit me again, this would be a bad mistake, because I did need the organic parts of my head.

Giant crystal beast pounces and is countered by Atomic Robo. "That took the fight out of him! Get clear and I'll finish the job."

Next panel is Atomic Robo flung head over heels through the air.

Atomic Robo introduces Charles Fort to lightning guns as they arm themselves to hunt a monster from beyond time.

"These are lightning guns. They collect electric charges from the air and boost them to OBSCENELY dangerous levels through an even MORE dangerous process." Robo points out the lightning gun setting dial. "Just whatever you do, DON'T move that dial past five. Or TO five. Or NEAR five, really. In fact, set the dial to one and then forget it's there.

Charles Fort settles into Robo's car with lightning guns bulging out of the back seat. "Is this entirely safe?"

"No. Not even a little."

Atomic Robo shrugs. "Angering powerful people in charge of shadowy organizations is pretty much my hobby."

Tesladyne Action Scientists George and Ananth plan with Atomic Robo at CERN about a rampaging Futuresaurus Rex. "Robo, we've got to stop that thing before it rips the place apart."

Invading Reach aliens are moments from killing Blue Beetle Jaime Reyes' family and friends when a green-booted leg appears. Baby sister Milagro says, "I know you. My brother calls you the crazy one."

More bc once I started looking I found old favorites. The living costume reveal was the first comicbook I ever read.

Agent X points fingers at a room of mercenaries, shouting, "You guys are destroying my vision of a cashless society!"

Lex Luthor temporarily gained superpowers and becomes increasingly aware of the universe. "It's so OBVIOUS. I can actually SEE and hear and feel and taste it and... The fundamental forces are yoked by a single thought."

Luthor's niece is less enthused. "Lexie? How do I get this HAT to work?"

"It's thought-controlled!" Lex proclaims before responding to his niece. "Hmm? Sorry... Sorry, these new SENSES... I can actually SEE the machinery and wire connecting and separating everything since it all began..."

Lex Luthor begins crying. "This is how HE sees ALL the time, every day. Like it's all JUST US, in here, TOGETHER. Amd we're all we've got."

Spider-Man is drawn in connected leaps around a large room trying to pull off his blacl costume, yelling, "YEOW! I can't--! I'm ordering it to get off me--but it won't budge! In fact, it's getting tighter! Crushing me--!

Reed Richards declares while Johnny Storm looks on in astonishment, "Oh, no! It's just as I feared--! The custume is afraid of being separated from its host! It's attempting to permanently graft itself to Spider-Man's body!

Moses Magnum, criminal arms and drug dealer confronts Spider-Man and the Punisher aboard his yacht. "You're quite strong, Spider-Man... Unfortunately for you this isn't a fistfight."

Moses raises both of his hands with a menacing glow while shouting, "I make the Earth quake with my hands! You both have no idea who you are--"

Moses pauses mid fight and looks down at his hands in surprise. "Wait! What--" Spider-Man stalks toward him on the ceiling while the Punisher headbutts a minion.

The next panel focuses all on Spider-Man who winds back a punch. "We're on a boat, you moron. All you're doing is making waves."

Spider-Man lets his fist fly and Moses Magnum goes flying off panel.

Picked up My Dress-Up Darling manga through Libby and I get it. The fun vibe of enjoying cosplay or a hobby reminds me of Genshiken in the best way. The romance is quick paced so far and cute.
