Any modern civilian 1/32 or 1/35?

Lol, I still scare my wife when I sneeze. If I sneeze in the kitchen, one can hear the glasses on the shelves sing in unisson...

First time trying to mimic welding seams on a #ScaleModel. I used stretched sprue front the same kit, which explains it's the same color and hard to see, but I think the result is okay. Should be more obvious once painted.

Love it! How was the build? I'm planning on getting one of those kits.

Yes, i do clearly remember those wood panels in C15 and Express utility vans, but can't pinpoint where I saw that in a pickup truck. I guess it's not too far-fetched anyways.

Beating up my #Honda #ScaleModel #WIP! I thought I'd add planks (balsa) acting as would-be protection for the box (comes from a distant memory, perhaps a made-up one). Those needed nuts&bolts (Meng) to hold; many flew into The Nothing...

I agree that one shouldn't get too wound up about it (I should sure work on that). I also believe that renown modelers should be better advocates for the craft.

François-Nicolas Robinne @fnrobinne.bsky.social · 05/10/2026
Perhaps it's false modesty, or a problem with admitting how important the craft is for them. Or a fear to be shut down or ridiculed by others. I don't know either.

Agreed. And for many, it's more than a hobby, it's passion, a way to express themselves, and even sometimes a job (and many artists work on commission).

Agreed!

I'm also questioning whether those folks say that in a genuine way; is it really how they see their work?

François-Nicolas Robinne @fnrobinne.bsky.social · 05/10/2026
The context when this comes up usually has to do with whether or not scale modeling is art. Even if one doesn't think so, I wouldn't go as far as comparing the craft to simply building toys.

Thanks Stef N. Sweat, tears, and blood yes! No shade to #Hotwheels lovers, but scale modeling is not for the faint of hearts... lol I've heard it way too often, often from reknown builders, and that really annoys me!

Toy: something for a child to play with or something resembling a child's toy, by Merriam-Webster. I don't think any of us would let there final projects in the hands of a child... What's your take on it? Am I being too serious?

François-Nicolas Robinne @fnrobinne.bsky.social · 05/10/2026
Modelers with a public voice (e.g., podcasts) for #ScaleModels, stop saying that "we shouldn't take ourselves too seriously; we're really only building toys". It's a disservice to the community. It belittles the time, efforts, passion, skills, and artistry we put or aspire to put into it.

Thanks! Quite basic, in fact: thick textured paper from old office supply, standard carton dimensions divided by 35, a ruler, some UHU glue. Once folded and dry, wetted with beverage on hand (coffee, lol), and pressed down with a pen. I'll switch to CA glue, since liquid reactivates UHU.

I hate that I became so cynical, but my brain goes "this is the path towards eugenics". Disabled, LGBTQ+, homeless people... it seems for the UCP, they don't deserve to be around.

And we'll introduce what we've already built — including our Start a Conversation flash cards — and what's coming next.

Temporary workers don't come to AB just to live off provincial and federal benefits while waiting doing nothing. I was temporary for 7 years, and I was an active part of AB's economy, directly contributing to the Canadian social safety net. Immigrants keep making the province what it is today!

COMMENTARY: Why turnout matters in Alberta’s vote on a future separation referendum | Globalnews.ca
Polls suggest support for a future separation vote remains limited, but the kind of crowds that turn up could significantly shape the final result.

#Alberta #Separatist #Referendum has nothing to do with #Democracy! It is the active weakening of our democratic institutions and safeguards, done in plain sight, that has led to this mockery. Go vote #NoToTheNine this October.
